Anyways....I'm going to sleep. Bring on the offseason.

Exact same feelings I'm having since last night. I try not to care for a team that plays on the other side of the world, but I just don't succeed :(

But one of the things that's bothering the most is that I won't get to see another Suns game in 5 months. I really love this team and had a such a great time every time they played. It's gonna be so empty the next few months :(

I am truly amazed at the criticism of Gentry. Was it that long ago that Porter was coach and the Suns were home fishing during the playoffs that they missed?

Was it Gentry that didn't box out Artest? Was it Gentry that only got 4 rebounds as a "max" power forward? If someone would have told you before the season started that the Suns would meet and challenge the Lakers in the WCF, you would have been ecstatic! Now all you want to do is pick apart his rotations and defense after the game is over and hindsight kicks in. Nobody expected the Suns would get this far and nobody gave them a chance to beat the Lakers. The truth is that ALL championship teams have some luck during their run. Lakers got theirs in game 5. Sometimes series change on something as small as an airball that is rebounded and scored on instead of clanging off the rim and going into overtime.

How about Frye missing his first 17 shots before he got them to fall? Gentry's fault too? Nash never getting to a finals is sad, but attacking Gentry is even sadder. The guy was all class, and he righted the Sun's ship after it sunk with Porter at the helm. You want to blame someone, blame the fact that Kobe has healed up from his injuries just in time to punish the Suns. We all know it's about timing. Ask all the teams that went up against MJ and came away with nothing. Just don't blame Gentry.

People blaming Gentry cannot be all that bright. He did a fantastic job all year. I agree with your Amare sentiments; he didn't play like a max player 5/6 games in this series. The reason we lost was Amare not stepping up and inexperience on the bench( who were inconsistent at times).

We're not blaming him for the losses, or the elimination. We're just pointing out that particular flaw about substitutions.

Give the fans some respite, there needs to be a scapegoat for a loss as painful as that, at least for the remainder of the postseason... We'll remember Gentry as the guy who got things turned around as time passes.

Hey Suns fans just wanted to come in and share some thoughts I had, I didn't wanna come last night because right after a game is never a good time in my opinion. Especially after an emotional series as this one was.

We've had 4 years of bottled up anger and vengeance ready to release, that said for me it was never about attacking a fan base. My trips to this board was to only get some civil basketball analysis on the series. And I had good convo with several during the last two weeks and also in the past.

I know every board has the "loose cannon", I too damn old and mature for garbage throwing.I can't speak for them but I can for my peeps that rep our board well and with respect. I get a lot of respect on different boards because of how I approach them. The playoffs are definitely the most emotional time for us ball fans. So coming to a board and slang'in trash isn't cool. I get it if your team is victorious but keep it civil.

That said I'll be the first to admit with a team like the Suns with probably the most dangerous offense in this new modern era of ball, you'd be straight up dumb not to think they didn't have a hell'va chance.

For me I knew if we pulled it off defense would have to be our calling card, that and trying to eliminate one or two of your guys that had been having a great playoff run. The Lakers and Suns go a long long way back as far as playoffs are concerned. And truth be told only the Suns and Spurs have had some success against the Lakers..........so my respect for you guys is always there. Of course I won't show my level of concern during a series, I'll make it seem as if I'm not worried and try to cast doubt about your team back to you. But like I said respect is there fellas, game alway recognize game.

Hope the Suns can take care of the internal business on team issues, no need to start over. Amare has it good in Phoenix, I get the business part but with how things are as a nation regarding economics and all.........just take what is fair. The Suns have the pieces...just need some time to make it fit right. The West is a hell'va conference.........you started out not so well but you rose from the ashes. Just like the legend has it.........the Phoenix rose again right ?

BurningHeart wrote:You Laker fans can save the plastic kindness. It's utter garbage. People in LA are fake as ****.

We lost because we got outcoached. You see the zone not working because the Laker losers are hitting their shots, THEN CHANGE IT UP.

You keep saying "hey guys, we're in it, there's a lot of time" even if it's the fourth quarter? C'mon man. It's not OK. Light a FIRE.

You leave Barbosa in after the time out in the fourth instead of bringing your starters in? You never play Nash and Dragic together? You remove Dragic, the guy responsible for our comeback? Jeez. You're getting killed on rebounding, then put Lou in!

You sit there and let Kobe pat you on the ass as Kobe drops a dagger? Are you KIDDING? You stand there and smile with him and basically suck him off right after he put the kaibosh on your team? SHOW SOME FIRE! BE PISSED!

I love Gentry but jeez man, he does a lot of crap wrong.

Great season, but not enough for me. I'm sick of "almost". I'm sick of "coulda, woulda, shoulda". I'm sick of being forced to feel "content". I'm sick of moral victories. I'm sick, sick, SICK of it.

**** WIN.

great post, good to see im' not the only one here with that attitude

For blames here and there, I have my critics for Gentry, Amare, Nash, Hill over all the time. But one thing is for sure, we have been a work in progress, constantly re-adjusting, learning on the job at an attempt to figure out combinations of our talent throughout all season. We came up a little short. And during that process, we could find fault with our coach and the 3 captains with what-ifs. But all in all, it's a hell of achievement, and testament of the talent level as well as chemistry level that we managed so far. If we retain the core and have another full season to perfect on combinations and game plans on both ends of the court, I really think we have even a better chance for a title run than this year. Let's keep it up!

I was out of town and had to stay away from computers and tvs so I could watch the game when I got in last night - sorry I couldn't be around to commiserate with you guys when it went down

Very disappointing but really, the odds were heavily against us and we were just out-manned and out-gunned - I dislike Kobe as a person but he's an incredible player. No-one could have stopped him when he's shooting like that

Respect to the Laker fans who came to the thread in sportsmanlike fashion. Congratulations on the series

Lots of great things this year and even in a loss some very good stuff - Frye with 13 boards? He may be soft but he works damn hard. Dragic will be even better next year - Duds will be working hard over the summer, Clark will be more ready to contribute

A very solid group and lots to build on. very proud of the way these guys came together and battled

I really think that Artest was the difference maker, not just for the shot in game 5 but throughout the series. We need to add someone of the same type, if we can find one who fits the group

Nash is a tough guy, he'll get over it. Unlike some people.

Yeah. All these if's in my mind that could've gotten us to the Finals. But it's just not meant to be.
