FREE AGENT SIGNINGS/RESIGNINGS:
Warrick: B+
Decent contract. Poor mans Amar'e. He can replace Amar'es dunking. And people forget something about this signing: hes never really plated with a great PG like Steve Nash (of even the DRAGON!!!) before. He will flourish in this system, and the money we payed fro a 12-6 guy off the bench... was pretty good

Frye: C+
Meh. Bad contrat, but he fits better in this system than any other, period. Plus, at least we didn't offer what the Clippers did. (5 years $34mil)

TRADES:
Amar'e S&T: B
The David Lee option was so perfect, so I can't in my right mind give this an "A". But I'm impressed/pleased that Sarver could get anything done... so GREAT work.

Childress S&T: A+
Great move. GREAT move. Good defender, decent shooter, willing passer... basically an improvement over Barbosa in most ways for a little less price-wise.

Turkoglu for Barbosa: B-
Not a bad move. He is a very very talented player. He will fit in nicely. His contract might be horrible, but Barbosa needed to go. Decent trade.

DRAFT:
Lawal: A
He's going to be better than Lou; he has really impressed in summer league, and is looking to be yet another second-round steal for the Suns.

Collins: C
It would be incomplete, but they basically drafted two players to replace Lou, and its looking like this one was unnecessary... but still a decent pickup.

NOT SIGNINGS/PROBABLY NOT SIGNING:
Lou: A
If they don't resign him, it will be a GREAT move. Gani can easily replace him, and I do not want to pay Lou 3 times as much to do similar work.
Amar'e: B+
Not worth the max. Period. Do way to not sign him.

OVERALL: A
I don't care if the grades don't add up; I believe we have become a better tean this offseason, especially with Goran/Lopez/Clark/Dudley most likely improving.

1. Re-signing Frye: B-
It's crazy. We're paying him too much.

2. Signing Warrick: C-
We expect him to be our Amar'e replacement, even thought he's lighter than Chris Bosh. Doesn't rebound well and will get owned in the post. We failed to explore all other possible options.

3. Amar'e S&T: B+
Using the S&T, we managed to get JC.

4. Signing of Josh Childress: B+
An underrated signing. However it's no where close to an A+ because we're stuck with loads of wing players.

5. Barbosa for Hedo: unknown
I can't make a prediction for this one. It's too difficult to make one. I have no idea what position he's playing (yes, he played PF in Orlando).

FREE AGENT SIGNINGS/RESIGNINGS:

Warrick: B
contract not too bad considering he is heading into this prime years. He has never been in trouble with coaching and doesnt seem to take plays off. he can be good player off the bench in case injury to hedo, frye, or lopez gets hurt. A smart signing.

Frye: B-
although contract is a little steep considering how inconsistent he was last season but based on market value. I think its a smart move by sarver. Channing may just have been a 3 point specialist last season but he was a post presence at U of A. I will give him a chance. he has done everything the team has asked from him and this season is no different. I think he wont be amare but he will be good.

TRADES:
Amar'e S&T: A
amare was not a max player considering he was the 2nd best player on the team. Sarver compromised and was able to find a way to not come away with nothing. a TPE that netted 2 new additions in childress and warrick was a fortunate move.

Childress S&T: A+
A very underrated signing. the guys is headed into his prime. even not in his prime he still put up great numbers- a career 53 percent shooter and a career 38 percent 3-point shooter. hopefully gentry utilizes his skillset to its fullest. Based on bumbers he is a more effective player than barbosa and has performed better overall than j-rich and half the price.

Turkoglu for Barbosa: C
A surprising move. although he has proved to be clutch in orlando, he is past his prime. he loves it here but he also chose to go to toronto. He is out of place as a PF and the suns can benefit from his versatility but we need consistent and true post player. Ill wait till the season but as of right now it seems an out of place signing.

DRAFT:
Lawal: A
I agree that he is going to be better than lou. Lou's main skill was his energy although lawal is kinda outmatched in that area. Lawal has more offensive punch and has the competitive streak to make things interesting his rookie season.

Collins: N/A
has not seem him play but he has to be better than taylor griffin.

NOT SIGNINGS/PROBABLY NOT SIGNING:
Lou: A
it was the best for the club to not resign lou. he was great here but the suns could not commit him more minutes and at this point anything above 2 million is overpaying based on playing time not on impact or production.

Amar'e: A
the contract offer was very competetive and showed the suns commitment in keeping him here. it was also partially guaranteed based on incentives. Smart offer and smarter move not to budge.

OVERALL: B
I cant say the suns are an improved product from last season but losing amare and lou is leveled out by the signing of childress, hedo, and warrick. drafting lawal and resigning frye was a roll of the dice but I think its going to pay dividends.

FREE AGENT SIGNINGS/RESIGNINGS:

Warrick: B-
Thought we were a little too trigger happy with this signing. Felt a bit like Sarver didn't know what to do and needed to make *a* PF signing and went a little overboard with Warrick. But the contract is decent value even though it's a little longer than I'd like. I could see him living up to his contract.

Frye: C+
Don't like how far we went to resign him. I thought a lot of his value came from the open looks he got from guys hedging to double help on Amare and now that Amare's gone, we should've maybe looked at going into another direction in terms of signing. I can only hope he plays to his contract.

TRADES:
Amar'e S&T: B+
Got a fat TPE but didn't like what we did with it. Better than him walking for nothing and not having any cap space to work with. Would've really loved to get Lee here but I doubt talks went very far.

Childress S&T: A
Definitely an underrated signing and at pretty decent value too. I could see him being an excellent glue guy in our system and more.

Turkoglu for Barbosa: B-
Didn't see this one coming and can't say I'm loving it but it's not terrible, definitely warming into it. Hedo is still a baller when you put the right guys around him (and I think we do) and am really looking forward to see him close out games and giving us a 2nd player (other than Nash) who can create offense. Expect to see him raise his FG%'s which isn't a tough ask considering he'll be playing next to Nash. I guess we did turn spare parts (LB) into something that could be very valuable to us as a player.

DRAFT:
Lawal: A+
He could definitely replace Lou and would be much cheaper so I really like this signing. He's been quite a surprise in the SL and could see him fighting for minutes with Warrick. He's definitely late 1st round talent so we certainly lucked in with him dropping. I would've liked Caracter too.

Collins: -
Don't see him sticking with the team.

NOT SIGNINGS/PROBABLY NOT SIGNING:
Lou: C+
I definitely felt like Lou had more to bring to the table than Warrick and could've been had for around the same price. The guy knew his role and was turning into a pretty decent defender. His rebounding and hustle was also a huge aspect of the 2nd unit's identity. His per36 stats for rebounding and blocks were 10.7rpg and 2.3bpg. Could've definitely used that.

Amar'e: A-
I thought we offered a fair deal, which was the same as NY's except the last two years aren't fully guaranteed. He left to find more security so good for him.

OVERALL: C+
A lot of could've, should've and would'ves IMO if Kerr/Griff had stayed on to do the negotiating instead of Sarver.

B

Considering what we gained, and what we lost.... we have bested most other teams in the same situation.

And some who did not experience such a hit.....

If we brought Chill and Turk in to start next year in place of Hill and JRich, then an A. If we pick up dirty, an A+.
