I meant in their efforts on the defensive end. They both seem to lack the motivation to play hard-nosed defense, where someone like Dudley likes to go body-to-body and Hedo and Frye would rather not take a hit. But yes, Frye has a bigger wingspan and has shown glimpses of his ability to rebound the ball.

Didn't you see all the flagrants Frye picked up this year? He led the team in the regular season, I believe, and definitely in the playoffs. Frye's meaner than you think. He played good D on Duncan. He's not a classic banger because he doesn't have the frame for it. It doesn't mean he isn't aggressive or doesn't play hard. In terms of defensive impact, he was no different than the larger, heavier Lopez.

Frye's defense is underrated. That's not to say it's good, merely that it is about average, and not awful as some people seem to believe.

I completely agree. Frye had a ton of motivation to play defense. Listen to any of his half-time interviews, he is always talking about defense and energy. He tries hard. Yea he gets beat, but he tries hard. I think he is going to improve his defense this year, and I think he is going to prove that he is worth what we payed him.

Definitely, he played defense as well as he did(which was nothing to write home about) because he was playing with the bench, who rubbed off their effort on him.

I've defended - no pun intended - Frye's D mos tof the year, and his rebounding. The guy juts plain is not a banger but he has a great attitude about doing his best to give the team what it needs. He wrestles for position, blocks out and gives effort, and his defense did improve markedly. His rebounding suffered on the offensive side but he did decently offensively, as I recall.

Not to kick Amar'e but Frye outworked him most of the time
