Ok. This is hypothetical of course but lets assume Nash and Hill request to be traded to contenders to finish out there careers and the Suns oblige to start the dreaded rebuilding process and out of respect for our 2 elder statesmen. It's time for you to play gm and play with realgms trade checkers.
Here are the terms-
They both have to go to contenders, to teams that have a good shot of making the latter half of the post season. The trades have to work of course. And the Suns have to get something in return whether its young prospects that are currently burried on benches or draft picks. Basically something that will help The Suns rebuild faster over the next 2-3 years. The goal is simple. Since the Suns have their own 1st rounders over the next couple years, try to bring in some more picks and/or young talent to get the future rebuilding under way.
Anyone is game of course but you have to move Nash/Hill first since that is the point of the thread. I respectfully request that you leave Lopez, Dragic and Lawal intact since they are currently our young "potential" players and could be part of our rebuilding, especially big Rob he is easily our center of the future if he can avoid the injury bug.

Re: Respecting our elders and Rebuilding
Ok I just threw these together to get the ball rolling, they arent perfect so dont crucify me
Trade #1 http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5718550
Nash goes to Portland for disgruntled Rudy F and Miller. Before you say that They arent a contender remember they have a roster filled with talented bigs like Aldridge, Oden and Camby and of course the dynamic Roy. Even bitten hard by the injury bug last year they pushed us to 6 games and showed alot of heart. Nash might just be the player to galvanize this crew that has size, defense and rebounding adding his elite playmaking, leadership and shooting skills to the mix. If they manage to stay healthy nobody would want to face this team in the playoffs. The Suns get the Hornets 2011 1st round pick from Portland and send them the Suns 2015 second rounder in return.
Trade #2 http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5718560
HIll and Hedo goto Chicago to play with Rose, Boozer and Noah giving them enough veteren talent to win now. They swap talented enigma (and often injured) Deng and future prospect Gibson with Johnson as filler. The Bulls send Phoenix the Hornets 2012 1st rounder that is owed to them and the Suns send the Bulls the Knicks 2012 2nd rounder that is owed to them in return.
Ok i just threw these together to get it started but it achieves the goal. The Suns get a couple maybe young players in Gibson and Fernandez along with New Orleans next 2 years first round picks along with our own could speed up the rebuilding process. Getting Miller takes the pressure off Dragic to start now and having Fernandez and Dudley at the 2 could make Richardson and his expiring contract trade bait as well, if were lucky enough maybe another pick.
Our team would tank the next 2 seasons but get 4 1st rounders in return to build around Lopez, with our own picks most likely being lottery picks. Painfull as rebuilding is, with Amare gone and Nash and Hill soon to retire its now or never in my eyes.

Re: Respecting our elders and Rebuilding
I'd like to send Nash to Portland or Orlando for a chance at a ring. I'd like to send Grant to Boston maybe or a team like that where his defense will fit right in and his scoring would be welcome. All in all I want to see both of them get a ring.

This trade just makes sense, ever since the Turkoglu trade.

Re: Respecting our elders and Rebuilding
Wow..........what is with all the trade our team leaders, top players...........if we do that who is going to mentor all the yougins in your warped sense of building for the future ?? NOBODY we get back in a Nash trade is ever going to be able to replace what he brings. All this Nash and Hill deserve a shot at a ring is funny............while they do deserve a ring, they also deserve LOYAL fans that will support them for all they do for THIS team because if they wanted to be anywhere else, they would be. They control their own destiny at this point in their careers. So how about we see how this team developes over the first 15 - 20 games and allow Nash and Hill (+Jrich) to pull this squad together and show what they can do..........
