I still think the NY trade makes no sense. It would be idiotic from both parts. ORL? Maybe. Although I don't think they would be a lock for a title at all. And PHX wouldn't get much value in return.

Value?
Nash/Hill/Clark for Nelson/Gortat/Bass or Anderson/Orton or a 1st round pick would be great value!

I'd rather play Dragic than Nelson, and see if he improves. Same with Lopez and Gortat. Wouldn't mind Bass though.

With Nash gone, Dragic would get more minutes, but Nelson would still start. We could do a Detroit Stuckry/Bynum thing and split their minutes 50/50. Gortat would be great off the bench for Lopez. They kinda play the same way, but Gortat is a way better rebounder. Also Lopez tends to get in foul trouble alot, and it would be nice to have a big in there like Gortat instead of Frye. Frye eliminates himself from getting rebounds because he hangs up at the 3 point line. We need a big that can stay close to the hoop. Thats something else Gortat brings.

Re: Why we will trade Steve Nash.....
I'd like Felton+ Randolph + maybe 1st but the Orlando package does have more value. Quite frankly, as much as I love Nash and our fun to watch games, I don't think I can handle the seeing the last few seasons of Steve Nash on a team that's only fun to watch but doesn't win anything. I'd rather do Nash right (which he does deserves) and send him to a championship team and we get our rebuilding going. I just don't see this roster, even with Nash, winning anything in the next few seasons with money tied up and young guys up for extension.
I'm just really hoping our FO has a plan to either rebuild or reload, because they are wasting their time, our time and Nash/Hill's time putting out just a decent product.

I think you guys care about Nash winning a title more than he does. He's always said, "if it happens, great, if not, then I'm not going to let that consume me."

This.
Nash' mentality is the opposite of every NBA player.

Kobe has a better chance of being traded then Nash and Hill.

Knowing how Nash carries himself he wouldn't want to win it that way because its not the greatest way to win it so I don't see him being traded !
This is a good point. Though I had to read it 4 time to get the jist.
I am not advocating trading Nash. He has made following basketball fun again, and is my favorite player. And to those who quote him about 'winning a ring is not the end all...' go back and look in the post 6th game locker room when he was bawlin like a baby.
I am just thinking about what might happen if this team does not play well.
If we are not succeeding, I do not believe anyone on this roster is untouchable. And really, pay attention to what Nash says if we consistently getting owned by the bigger teams of the West. Will he force management's hand to make a move to acquire a true PF... or, in fact request a change ? How bad do we have to be to get to that point ?
who knows, and may be it will not happen. May be this is something that occurs after this season. May be we do our standard 2nd or 3rd place in the Pacific and hope for a decent playoff match up.
I just do not want to throw away young guys like JDuds, Dragic, Lopez for the likes of a PF in West or Gooden or???. We do not have a lot to offer up if Nash whines for a roster change.
And 1 good game against a soso Utah team does not make all right.
yup.... I said 'whines'
What ? Me Worry ?

Like Frank, I'm definitely not a trade Nash advocate but I could see us looking at everybody on the team if we're below 5-10 games below .500 at the trade deadline. I don't think Nash would ask for a trade, but I doubt he would refuse a trade to an ideal situation (contender) if we're moving in a rebuilding direction.

See a Gortat, Nelson & Bass for Nash, Lopez & Hill.
Gortat would be a solid defensive C which Phoenix never had and Bass would excel.Nelson is a better 2.
Steve would give Orlando

I really doubt he would feel the same if he reached the same stage with another team.
