Suns Training staff-Where does it rank?

Post#1 » by KaneSFFL » Thu Nov 4, 2010 12:34 am

I think a factor that is severely underrated in the league is a team's training staff. the ability to keep the players on the team on the court is probably one of the more important factors of a team in addition to the coaching staff.

Just came to mind watching the celtic-buck game right now, and how Shaq is out again for the celtics. When he was here he didn't miss time due to those nagging injuries he's had already with the celtics and with the cavs last year.

With what we've done with our players to keep them healthy (nash, hill, shaq etc.) and on the court, is our training staff the best in the league? I don't know much about other team's training staffs but just seem to always see players from other teams missing games because of small injuries. The suns haven't really had any players miss games because of those injuries like hamstrings and soreness or what not.

Maybe we're lucky, but other than Amare we never really had any injuries and i'm willing to bet that if nash/hill were on other teams they would have missed a bunch of games the past few seasons

They win trainer of the year honors like every year. They're pretty amazing. I saw Portland fans had a thread about paying Nelson (head trainer) like 5 times more than we do just to get him there... Except we signed him to like a 6 year extension a year ago if I remember correctly

Our training staffs have always been excellent. Even Joe Proski was renowned for his work

I always end up just staring at Get Nashty's avatar, and leaving the thread.

I think our training staff is actually regarded around the league, even by fans of other teams, as at or near #1.

This is one of the things that bugs me about NBA 2k games. They never rank our trainer an 'A' and its laughable.
