I liked what I saw from EC. He doesn't play with as much energy and passion as Dragic and Lopez did in their first couple of seasons but I thought his energy level was alright. He didn't try to do way too much and just stuck with what he knew, like the little drive and dish to the big man down low after drawing the defense. We've seen that move a couple of times before. I want to see him get more consistent minutes. Also, I've probably said it before, but he looks bigger than he was last season, I mean muscle-wise. Last season he was just tall but quite lanky, now it looks like he's put on a couple of pounds of that lean mean.

Also, what's the deal with playing Barron and Siler together at the same time tonight? I thought I saw a lineup of Hill, EC, Dudley, Barron and Siler for a stretch.

You saw every possible line-up that we could throw at them.

I think the line up was to see the chemistry during game time situations. I think the lineup int he 4th was pretty good. we need Hedo with the second unit if dragic is the starter.

dragic/j-rich/hill/warrick/frye. janning would have been more helpful cuz the guy can ball. Siller is just fat.

For some reason the internets just ate the carefully considered, deeply thoughtful, 15 minute post I wrote. Here's the short rewrite

GHill is God
Barron not jesus, or even Moses. Why did I think he would be?
Worth watching a full-on ass-raping like this just to see EC finally like a player. I know the coaches are not stupid but I am confused as to why we kept trying to win this when it was clearly a lost cause. Why didn't we play the kids earlier?
I forgive Siler a lot when I see him put back an offensive rebound fro 2. We never get easy baskets
He does, however, still run like he is crossing a hot parking lot to the beach and forgot his thongs in the car.
I wish we had kept Janning
I remember why I had such a game-crush on Bass

The bad news: I think we will see a trade. Two beat-downs like this in a row ... I know, Nash was out, etc. etc. but still I think it's clear we are going to get our lunch eaten by the elite teams. Boston will walk on us. I call this bad news because I don't recall many good deals made out of desperation

That said, 2-2 is not bad at all given the sked
Personally I look forward to forgetting this one ever happened

I am not too disappointed about the loss, as it was half expected. Playing the Heat one night, and then the Magic on a back to back is completely crazy.

Earl Clark looks like he might have finally shown up in an NBA game. I am very heppy for him, and I hope he can only build from this great game.

The worst part about today was my mate tricking me that Steve Nash tore an ACL after checking the score on his phone. Almost had a heart attack. :(

This is just another classic example of RealGM posters, perhaps unintentionally, under-valuing Steve Nash. You sort of refer to it in your post, but yes, Steve Nash was out---You know, the guy who literally creates every single offensive play for us when he's in the game. The same guy who's one of only a handful of players in the NBA who can legitimately get a team a good shot at any time. The Suns won't be making any trades because an elite NBA team destroyed them when their best player was out, along with their starting center. The majority of NBA teams would lose this game handily if missing their best player.

As you noted, Phoenix walked away from LA/DEN/ORL/MIA with a 2-2 record...I'll take that....In fact, I'll take that and RUN before the NBA decides to reverse one of those wins :)

I don't think a trade is needed jsut yet. We had an off night. When your second top scorer and best rebounder is your 13th man on the roster, you know that the team had a very off night. Add that to the fact (as YFZBlu said) we were missing our quarterback and our starting center, and coming off a back to back on the road against the Heat, a loss was pretty much guaranteed.

He needs to the ball to be effective.

The issue tonight is that Hedo was clearly 'spent'. He's on the wrong side of 30, playing the second night of a back-to-back. It was easy to see that he had no legs. This was expected...I mean really, I don't know why people (not you) are legitimately disappointed with this loss. When your best player is out, along with your starting center, a loss to Orlando is simply inevitable.

Is what I read. I had to read again.

Anyway, I think we'll see a deal this season but not because of this loss. Even if it was a 40pt beat down, I think there's too much to be excused (missing starting PG, best player and C) to make a knee-jerk reaction out of this. Quite frankly, we're going to get beat down by teams with size (Boston, LA, Orlando, Utah will give us trouble when we play them next) and there's really no moves out there worth making that would help us get significantly better up front. With Amare, as much as he gave up defensively, he helped us by giving 100% of it back on the offense and teams had a hard time containing him. Right now, we're going to need an Amare Stoudemire on offense to offset the defensive charity we're giving away because there's just no defensive big good enough to plug solve our rebounding and defense problems.

Next couple of games are going to be tough if Nash is going to be out. Goran needs to pick up his game as a starter, he should have played better. I can understand the older players struggling in the b2b but not the younger players like him. He looked very disappointing out there.

You need to read a little closer before replying with things like "another classic example of RealGM posters, perhaps unintentionally, under-valuing Steve Nash": I'm a huge Nash fan - have a look at my handle for a clue - and I said I thought a trade prompted by the last two whippings we got would be a bad idea.
But in both instances lack of rebounding and defence were huge problems for us, which - Nash on the court or not - is why I say, we will get our lunch eaten by the Lakers, Celts, Heat, Magic. Care to argue that? I wouldn't put too much stock in our win over the Lakers, either, as lovely as it was to watch. Unless you reckon we'll be shooting, what - 65-70% from three? - reliably ...

The FO isn't going to initiate a trade based on those two games. The FO are the ones who signed Hedo and wanted to start him at PF. You do realize this is the NBA, right? Front offices are notorious for sticking with a bad decision simply because they don't like admitting fault. Which is exactly why Hedo Turkoglu is STILL the starting power forward for this team, and exactly why I'm worried about this season. I have a feeling they're going to ride this out until the wheels fall off.
