I hate any trade involving Dudley. He is too valuable to us and on a nice contract. I wouldn't mind giving up Lopez so much though...

Wow AR looks like he had nice handles for a big man.
If trading Dudley means netting a young guy such as Anthony Randolph, I would accept the trade immediately. Players like Dudley are not as hard to find as young, promising, big men.

Re: Fancy some AR anyone?
I think it is interesting how his workout looks like Perry Jones a little bit. Perry may be more mobile on the perimeter, but both are skinny big men. Perry may also be the better perimeter shooter as well, but AR has better inside moves. Hopefully Perry won't get hit by the injury bug.
For me, I would be interested in either AR or Speights. Speights could model himself after a certain other less than stellar defense, less than stellar rebounding big-man we had here in PHX, and Nash can probably get it out of him with a good commitment for minutes. One thing I think we need to do in PHX is set a consistent amount of minutes for people. It helps players develop a rythim. Playing only 25 minutes as a starter can mess with your flow.
AR would be good, but we would need to get Aaron Nelson to get him in the gym to add strength to prevent further injuries, as well as give us some size in the middle. He looks like he could easily get up to 240 with the width of his frame. Like Amare as well, he will do better facing the basket running in, than backing down opponents in the post. he is so completely athletic, and dynamic off the dribble, he should be able to abuse many western conference big-men on the offensive end. Defensive end is another story.

Oh and as far as trades go, our 2011 1st is off limits except for an exceptional deal in my book. We need cheap guys that can produce. We are likely going to pick at 16- 18. I would use our excess weight on the wing, EC and for the right deal, maybe Lopez. It looks like Lopez has been playing with more injuries that we had thought, and that may have limited him early. First reports out sound encouraging for his tenacity coming back. Lets hope it is true.

Knick fan here:
1) AR isn't getting playtime cause of really poor IQ, mostly on offense. He has so many skills for a guy at 6'11, but he doesn't know which tool to use in his toolbox at any given time. He ends up just putting up a bad shot early in the shot clock, thinking this is what D'Antoni's system is about. His confidence level is also at an all-time low -- he's constantly looking over his shoulder after anything he does, even when he makes a shot, as if he's looking for approval. You guys have had D'Antoni so you probably already know his low tolerance/patience level for a young player that makes so many mistakes. That's why AR is riding the pine.
2) On defense, he's been pretty impressive, blocking shots with his ridiculously long arms, and pulling down rebounds in traffic. But again, this is D'Antoni we're talking about here. And both Turiaf and Mozgov contribute just as much as AR on the defensive end without hurting us on the offensive side.
3) Knicks actually prefer a 2012 1st rounder, cause it allows them to trade their 2011 or 2013 pick in a Melo trade. Right now we can't trade any pick until 2014 cause we don't have a 2012 pick.

Thanks. We know Dantoni doesn't develop or like to develop young talent too well. I'd like him here. Maybe even for that 2012 first. Too much potential to flourish if given a chance.

IDK, the 2012 draft is supposed to be stacked. Many players eligible for the 2011 draft are thinking about waiting a year to see how the CBA goes.

Yeah, but idk. Wouldn't mind seeing a bold trade coming from this new regime.

With Pietrus AND Carter the log jam at SF has just gotten worse. Neither Pietrus or Carter can play PF. Any wing and a 2nd for Anthony Randolph right now...
