Well then, why not just use our TPE for Anthony Randolph? I'd be willing to give up the Magic's first round pick, and possibly our second round pick.
Or actually I figured out a trade that could work.
Suns get-
Elton Brand
Roger Mason

Philly get-
Wilson Chandler
Anthony Randolph
Kelenna Azubuike
Eddy Curry
Mikael Pietrus
1st Round Pick (Magic)
1st Round Pick (Knicks) 2012

Knicks get-
Andre Iguodala
Hakim Warrick
Josh Childress

Basically the exact same trade, except the Suns also lose Pietrus.
Roger Mason is just to fill the void of another wing player so the Suns would still have four wing players (Vince, Hill, Dudley and Mason). Suns still have a ten man deep roster. A Sixers fan mentioned that Brand would not be traded because he is the focal point of their offense, but I say otherwise. Their record indicates they won't get much better because they aren't hit with injuries, so unless they can turn this around by February I can't see why they wouldn't make a deal to unload a couple of their huge contracts.

I wouldn't give up two picks for Randolph. We don't have room for him right now

Two deals, each predicated on the other...... since VC cant be paired with anyone else right now. Deal one.... VC for Brand...... Deal two... Lopez+Warrick+our second rd pick for Spencer Hawes+ Thad Young.

Just put the gun down, slowly now.... and take a few steps back.

It aint happening dude. The opportunity to acquire EB has long since passed.

The poster was very polite (not lolz give us ur player take our crap), so i thought i'd come over and try to give a Sixer's perspective.

Brand is currently our best player, hands down. When we run the offense through/around him we win (or stay in tough games). He's our only consistent rebounded/post-defender/inside scoring. We have a win sooner than later coach. I can't see us moving Brand for just an expiring contract. Also, if we do move Brand we will suck royally, so adding an unprotected pick would make absolutely no sense for us.

*IF* our franchise did decide to blow it up for Jrue/Turner to gel, and we got a decent PF/C in an Iggy deal, then maybe they do a Brand for VC... but with out adding additional compensation. I understand how you could not like the $$ of that.

Brand's a great mentor to our young team and fills a huge hole, I see us moving Iggy before Brand (and no we wouldn't be looking to move Iggy for VC+anything :))

Thanks for this. I agree with you from Philly's perspective.

Obviously I wouldn't have pitched this concept had I not thought that Brand was an asset outside of his contract.

Does Brand play spot minutes for you guys at C?

hey no problem, I enjoy trade conversations when they stay some what civil :)

I don't have an exact break down, though I can go look for one, but Brand does spend some time at C for us because Hawes has been real up and down and Speights is in Collin's doghouse. Brand is tough with a long reach, because their are a shortage of 'legit' C's in the league, Brand can usually play significant '2nd C' (except against teams with multiple skilled 7fts), and easily matches up well against teams that run a slightly shorter C.

Brand at C also has given us solid rebounding/D when running a Jrue/Meeks/Iggy/Young line up which is pretty fast. Don't get me wrong, he's no Dwight... but he's a grizzled vet underneath.

Brand is largely considered immovable. He definately does not play to his contract. But roll with me.

Vince Carter for Elton Brand + PHI's unprotected 2011 1st.

And shot in the head for Phillies managment and owner if they would do such a deal, it's crazy and completly one-sided, would never happen. Even without 2011 1st RD pick. 76ers would be more willing to unload Igoudala, not Brand. Brand who is playing better this season and is thier main C option, without him they have absolute zero in the paint. 76ers are way below luxury tax so no desperation to clear contracts.
Last season when they still had Dalembert, Brand was playing worse and off bench, at that time Carter-Brand swap (without pick or even picks going the other way) could have some chance, now none.

Completely agree - The time when Brand could be had was last year when he seemed done, and we would have been gambling our trainers could revive him. Now he's too valuable - playing well and heading towards being a nice big expiring deal in a while.
From what i saw yesterday, I'm glad we didn;'t go after him. He may be recovered but he's not he guy I remember - no energy or fire

Weird how you dont[ really watch a player for a few years and just think time has stood still and they're who you saw the last time you looked. I thought he was the same guy he was in LA four years ago, just slowed done by recovery from a bad injury. Nope -
