As with all 'explosive' athletes, Father Time reels them back in to normalcy.

Unless you eyewitnessed the 'Hawk' there is no way you saw his best, and we caught only the tail end of his 'rim realm' in the NBA. As with Earl Manigault, the legend looms and cannot be denied. And please, do not question 'The Big Dipper's' ability to outperform today's best. Wilt was an amazing athlete. Imagine if Shaq was a track and field star in high school / college. Fact... accused of being too much of the offensive scoring... Wilt lead the league in assists the following yr. There was no one like him, yesterday or today.

There is no point questioning your Vincemanship. Pity we do not get his best, but then again, neither did Orlando.

Carter gets paid 4 mill next yr regardless of anything. It is not a contract yr for him. He'll get bought out, then add another 1-2 mill on top somewhere as he eases into the twilight much like his cousin.

connie was an entertainer no doubt..but i hate to not glorify the yesteryears hes just not as entertaining as vince was ( outside the HG stint which of course is more entertainment and no real game seriousness `)

Sorry. I may not be as old as you but ive seen as much footage as anyone else of players that were before my time and im not a sentimental person.

stop assuming i havent watched things outside my timeframe.

anyhow this thread just got boring :D now time to beat atlanta..they were horrid vs LA..more of the same shooting from them will do just fine

...I'm not 13 years old.

There's more to being "electrifying" then dunking.

he also had the sickest 360 reverse layups ive seen. He did a lot them during his time IN NJ.

Btw i still think he should leave..id prefer he did for our sake. Some people just hate the guy because they are depressed. Look lets agree to disagree..you go watch wilt fingeroll wearing the gayest shorts on the planet..its far more impressive and exciting then dunking over 7 foot 2 frenchman

Yes, that's it exactly, Wilt balled all those women because he was so insecure from wearing those "gay" shorts -

Oh yeah, Mac1 is definitely a Suns fan before a Vince fan.

Ya. Uhuh. Okay.

BTW----even Suns-era Steve Nash is more "electrifying" than Vince Carter. I'll take Nash's creativity, running, shooting, heart, and ability to make the whole team better over Carter's dunks and injured-list visits.

My point is there is not a lot of footage of those 'old guys' available. I make no assumptions other than may be if you got out of Carter's shorts, he could return to form. 8-)

Rest him for a week.... if we still have him tomorrow.

A few things are clear to me:
1) Vince isn't 100% and there are other players who can bring what an injured Vince has brought to the game. He should move to the bench where he can regain a little confidence or take time off for rehab.
2) Vince at 100% (the way he was earlier this year with Orlando) is better than Dudley, Childress, and Pietrus by a long shot - it's not even close.
3) Suns fans have an irrational hate for Vince Carter and blame him for everything that goes wrong (Bright Side of the Sun is absolutely terrible for this) despite the fact the team has gotten much better since the trade
4) If you like dunking, acrobatic layups, and game-winning jumpers in the regular season, then it is not "ignorant" to suggest that prime Vince was the most exciting player in history - this contributes to the reason everyone hates him so much.
5) Don't let Mac1 or any other childish posters make you generalize about Vince Carter fans. He's always been one of my favorite players and its pretty offensive when people make it seem like cheering for Vince Carter makes you a terrible person. There's a pretty sizeable community of intelligent Vince Carter fans across the internet, some of them are making this forum a better place right now. Just wait until Maxamillion711 makes a Suns highlight video...

i wouldnt say my replies have been childish. I dont roll over though. Lets keep it real.we know whats at hand with vince here.He WAS an elite player in his prime. He's clearly not in top condition right now but thankfuly despite this he isnt really hurting the team.

i apologize if i have offended anyone.

To be fair to Bright Side, it's just kind of a funny meme that we participate in now.

Like the escape goat.

+1

Great Post. BSOTS has alot of quality Suns fans that are fair with Vince, and I don't really care for others that just use Vince as their scapegoat. But then again, all teams have one player to rag on, so it's normal.

I used to player hate on Kobe a lot, but seeing how he takes care of his body vs how Vince Carter looks like he's 230 or 240 really makes me appreciate Kobe's hard work and longevity, dedication, etc.

hope Vince gets better!
