That falls on Amare a bit, and it also falls on management for not getting him adequate help down low too. Marion wasn't going to be an exclusive post defender/rebounder because, as you said, he guarded all five positions and did so many OTHER things too. Kurt Thomas helped, but it was still brutal overall.
God, I miss Shawn.
That falls on Amar'e a lotta bit.
The Suns weakness was rebounding, and the Suns weakest front court rebounder was.....Amar'e.
Sure, as you noted--The Suns eventually found him help in Kurt Thomas..So what does Amar'e do? He finds a NEW way to lose by getting his ass out of his seat in 2007. He's just a loser when the chips are down. Do I blame him for getting up? Not entirely...but that's the point: if it wasn't rebounding, it was turnovers...if it wasn't turnovers, it was injuries. If not injuries, he's getting suspended...That's just the player he is.
Let's also not forget how maddening it is to listen to him talk:
"From a marketing standpoint, I haven't reached my full potential. With my personality and aura and swagger, I have a good chance to be marketed. Lots of companies adore me."
