(1) Im Australian. I got to live in USA for a year an also a month and a bit in Japan...

Japanese people craps all over the average American person... in terms of politeness, willingness to help and assists, cleanliness, discipline etc. Its not even close.... Dont get me wrong... Some Americans are worthy and are terrific people... but my comparison is basically random observation and personal experience....

Seeing that LINK.... its sickenning... simply sickenning...

Here in Australia, since our society is made of various background... from Vietnamese to Lebanese.. to Sudanese etc.... our society is basically so mixed up that every there is so many ethnicity and religion... BUT, they share the common thoughts of strong DISLIKE to the attitude of the Americans... and comments like that do NOT help.

Bomb Pearl Harbour??
Considering it was WAR, both countries were hurting each other.... Hiroshima suffered too... thats the ugliness of WAR..

I tell you what... what happens when California SINKS under the water after the next earth quake... Im not saying IF.. but WHEN... because its going to happen..... Japan's tectonic plate is prone to these kind of earthquakes... but so is California...

Im just really upset by the comments from that link... its ugly as.

I beg to differ. Maybe not most Americans in places like LA, and San Diego (where I live), but if you've ever been to the midwest or south, i think you'd change your mind about that... More Americans than you think would share this type of mindset, and it's sickening.

Let alone the fact that none of those people were even around when WW2 happened, and the fact that the US coaxed Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor so we could get involved in the war...

Meh. People here in LA only "give a ****" because it makes them look good. California is as superficial as anything. I've been around the country and people are genuinely nice and compassionate.

I'm with BH. I was raised in NC and I honestly don't know one person who would share those sentiments. There are jerks everywhere but you can't judge Americans from the vocal idiots who represent most other countries' outside view of America.

I bet half those guys are only posting that as their facebook status just to get comments and likes. They're attention seekers. Deep down, I reckon they only HALF mean it.

Honestly, I don't have time to get angry at the ignorance of those people. None of them were even alive at the time and to talk like they were there just shows how ignorant some people can be.

+1

I am almost certain that many of them wouldn't know the year pearl harbor was bombed.

Its sad to see these kind of disasters happen. I hope the people of Japan are able to recover quickly from this.

You know, I could say the same thing about the Japs. They killed and tortured millions of Korean people. They invaded our country, pretty much stole all our ideas and technology, and oppressed our country for decades.

But that's in the past. Its not the Japanese people of today's fault for what their people of past generations did. Its time to move on from the past and into the present; and in the rpesent, the Japanese people need our help.

The situation here is dire, almost all my friends have fled south to escape the radiation as a precaution and higher than normal levels of radioactivity has risen in Tokyo to 10 times the normal level though this is still not considered to have any negative effects.
The situation at the nuclear plants is desperate because there is no road access everything must be done via helicopters but anyone entering the vicinity of the plant will be exposed to dangerous levels of radiation.
The workers still working at the plant are most likely going to die from radiation exposure, things are not looking good at the moment.

Thanks for that, I read a similar article but not quite as detailed as this. In any event these GE reactors are almost half a decade old and we need to replace them with newer safer designs. Banning the construction of newer reactors is counter productive to atomic safety which is what the anti nuclear folks want to do.
