^ I know, that's why it's not locked/merged and there's a MASSIVE list of FAs John listed in his other thread...which is helpful

Nets were in love with MWilliams and then .... pfffft
but that was when they were like GS, draft them, go nuts with expectations and then throw the guy away

I was thinking more that we'd look at guys who .... became invisible. But why not merge - the old one is getting no play.
Can't believe I got called out on being thread happy ...

He plays good on the defensive end, he can get his shots when he needs too. He's a good guy in the locker room too, in Toronto he seems to be a big fan favourite, kind of like Jerome aka JYD.

Rick Welts might like him though...

Oh and then there's this...

At least Grant Hill and Jared Dudley won't call him gay.

Re: Bargain Basement, or, The Gerald Green Appreciation Soci
My third list.. Writing this more for my own enjoyment than anything else. So dont mind me haha.
PG- TJ Ford (Pacers-FA)
Solid veteran point guard. Has a nice mid range jumper, and can run the offence well. May be a a bit too trigger happy on the shots, but I can live with that if he's cheap.
SG- Larry Hughes/Flip Murray (FA)
Yes yes I know... I just named the 2 biggest chuckers in NBA history, but for a player(s) that would most probably be paid the vets min, I dont mind that. Both has ranje on their jumper, and both aren't terrible defenders. Most of all, they can put up points in a hurry.
SF- Christian Eyenga
Very atheletic wing defender, with the ability to get blocks and steals. He also has a pretty consistent three point shot. BBall IQ is a bit of a problem though, but I really like his game.
PF- Samardo Samuels (Cavs)
I love this guy. Great force around the basket. Went undrafted last year, but DAMN he can play ball.
Averaged 11 and 6 in February in just 26 minutes. I would pick him up and insert him straight into our starting lineup to be honest. That's how high I am on this guy.
C- Josh Boone
Big body who fills the lane. Able to get rebounds, but that's just about it. Good third string center.
(As mentioned above..)
I would really like it if we brought in Reggie Evans. Probably the best fundamentally skilled rebounder in the NBA.

Re: Bargain Basement, or, The Gerald Green Appreciation Soci
Just a couple of thoughts....
PG - Goran Dragic
I think this guy shows a lot of promise. Can score in bunches and is fearless. Could improve his court vision a bit. Like what I saw when his Slovanian coach came over to help with his shot.
SG - Jason Richardson
His three point shooting is just what we need in the back court and I like his ability to slash and his post up game. I think him and Steve could even run the PNR every once in a while.
SF - Grant Hill
I know some are clamoring for younger guys to get more PT, but for my money I can't ask for more from any other player in the league. The guy is heart, hustle, leadership, class... and all at an incredibly discounted salary.
PF - Lou Amundson
I love this guy's hustle. Love it. I think he could be had for about $2m a season. He would be the spark off the bench that we would need to get our second unit into gear. Think him and Dragic would play well together.
C - Kurt Thomas
I know he's old, but the guy still does everything he needs to do well. Rebounds, hits the 15 footer at the top of the key/baseline. Plays gritty defense and absorbs fouls. All for the vet min?
Oh wait....

Re: Bargain Basement, or, The Gerald Green Appreciation Soci
DRK - great lists .... I had plumb forgotten Samardo.
but as a Raps watcher, please no TJ. I don't think he'd handle being a role-player well.
Fesenko I've always liked but he seems to have hit his ceiling. I had thought he might really blossom when he was drafted. He'd be a solid backup for sure - didn't he play well when he got some minutes due to injury?
also a very funny guy - a seriously big kid
bonus points for his team in the Ukraine - Cherkassy Monkeys
I really want a jersey
