At this point getting rid of Warrick for the least amount of damage to the team would be a challenge.

Let his stay. As bad as people said he was, I actually really didnt mind him at all. he gave up a good offensive spark off the bench, and well... gave his 100% on defence, which is more than some other people did. (Vince?)

He mentioned during the Exit interviews that he is "going home to work hard on his mid range game." This is a good sign IMO. If Warrick can somehow get some game time playing alongside Nash, not only can he finish strong at the rim, but (hopefully) he can knock down the mid range jumper with consistency.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Gentry run with a lineup of:

Frye
Warrick
Dudley
FA (Crawford)
Nash

With that lineup, we should be looking to run the PnR/PnP on every possession. Give Warrick the whole lane to work with. If the PnR draws double teams, kick out to one of the availible three point shooters.

Simple game basketball isnt it?

I thought Warrick played terrible defense - I always liked the guy's game from the limited amount I saw him play with MEM, but he really disappointed me last year. If we're stressing defense this year, I see him on the bench behind Morris and Lawal, who both pride themselves on playing tough. They'll get eaten yes, they're rookies, but willingness to play both ends makes them a better bet for us. Maybe Warrick will surprise me but I doubt it.

Sweet Lou had a great year for us but as I recall he was an unrestricted free agent and was waiting for the offers to come in - they didn't and it was late in the summer before he took the deal with GS. A shame, for everyone. I'd love to see him back but no need to give up picks of any kind to get him.

We've traded away how many players because of Steve Nash's wife? Lou, Barbosa, Dragic, Richardson...

I thought it was Rick Welts who left because of Steve Nash's wife??

I didn't like the signing of Warrick, when I knew we wouldn't use him for the reason we got him (Amare-lite), and what compounded the stupidity was signing him in lieu of Lou. We could have kept Lou for cheaper, and he already knew our team and offense and defense.

I always thought we needed a Bo Outlaw type on this team, and when I saw Lou play against us in a Philly/PHX preseason game, I thought he was the guy. Three years later we signed him. I couldn't believe our FO made a smart move. Now he wasn't the best player ever, but besides 100% hustle, his effort and attitude rubbed off on the whole team, and we played better as a whole. And I am sorry, but Lawal can't give that to us, well at least not from the bench.

Warrick played his best defense in a zone at the top of the key. Sort of like Marion did when he was guarding the opposing PG. Warrick's long arms got into passing lanes. I will agree that at times he gave 100% on defense, but I don't think it happened all the time.

Problem with Warrick is that he's only really effective as a pick and roll guy, but Nash is the only guy on our team who can run it properly(Brooks and Dowdell aren't very effective.) Since Warrick is no longer a starter, his potential effectiveness is kind of nullified.

This is a LOWLIGHT video, so it's going to make him seem worse than he is, but here's a critical look at his weaknesses:

Here's the rest of the critiques for our roster: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheMikeSchm ... 629106365E

They're kind of depressing, but again, these are videos that only point out weaknesses.

I didn't know Nash and Welts broke up. Tough for it to happen right at Christmas.

It sucked to watch that Warrick video. Instead of hitting a wide open guy, he forced up some crap. :(

Getting back to the topic I agree with the 2 young PF's Morris and Lawal we need to sit tight and try to develop both of them. And since D'Antoni isnt our coach anymore this is now possible :D

Hopefully Morris gets about 8-10 min per this season and we bring Lawal back home over the summer and start to NBA-ify him. Warrik wont be traded because nobody wants a 1 dimentional dunker with zero intangables and zero defense. My prediction is he is kept on the bench as injury insurance and will rot there until his contract expires. He may get some time early on but once Morris gets some confidence and assuming he isnt a total bust he should be outplaying Hakim easily and then taking his minutes.

And everyone needs to stop talking about Nash wife getting boned by everyone. They have an open marriage so its allowed, I even banged her down low.

That Warrick video was perfect. Props to whoever made it. The guy is a bonehead and a cancer on both ends of the floor. Lou is the opposite. I say anything that involves the Suns getting rid of Warrick and getting Lou is what we should go for. Maybe a 3 team deal? The reason I mentioned trading Morris is because he is never going to be anything special. Why we picked him over his brother I will never know. He is a 15th pick with the talent of a 30th pick. Trade him before that 15th pick tag becomes irrelevant. But if Warrick is on the roster at the end of the season I will lose all hope in our FO.

The only current players that should be on the roster at the end of the season are Nash, Dudley, Hill, Dowdell, Gortat, Childress, and maybe Frye

Better defense and better 3-point shooting. Better 3-point shooting, especially from a big, = better spacing. Better spacing = better offense, especially if you have a pick-and-roll and/or slashers that need space in the paint to operate. Markieff won't create offense, but he'll better enable the creation of other players' offense. That's ideal when you have a guy like Nash, but it also worked wonders for the Suns 2010 2nd team. The Suns offense has been radically superior with Frye on the court for the last two seasons...with him just chillin' on the 3-point line stroking at 40%. It's killed us to not have two of him. Now, hopefully, we do. And Markieff gives a more physical defensive presence. Last season we started with zero physical, tough frontcourt defenders. Now we have Gortat, Markieff, and Lawal if he plays. That makes a world of difference.

Which is why Markieff was a much better bet for us than his brother. Two things we needed in a big - 3-pt shot and defense, and a dirt worker attitude. His brother prefers to be thought of as a 3 and plays accordingly. He's going to have troubles with McHale, I predict.
