Pick-n-roll only works if we have great rollers who can finish (Amare, Marion) and a point guard who can get it to them (Nash). It takes a lot of physical effort by the PG to run the pNr on every possession. I'm not sure if Nash has the legs for to do it for a full game and commit to defense. Also, Gortat is a pretty good finisher but his broken thumb will slow him down until it heals.

The telling sign our pNr has gotten worse is all the dribbling around by the guards and then we end up with a fall-away jumper with the shot clock expiring. It's like we have no other plays to run.

Considering Gortat, Lopez, and Siler trained with Olajuwan this summer I would hope we see more post plays in upcoming games. Markieff had one or two good ones and so did Warrick. Robin, Gortat, and Frye didn't get many chances. Posting up with spread out three point shooters should help our offense.

Any one have an idea the percentage of time we run pNr vs post up?

Honestly as much as I love Mt. Siler as a character, personality and most importantly an underdog expecting ANYTHING out of him outside of practice is a bridge too far. If he manages to monstrously posterize someone in his trash minutes it'll make my season though!
