I read GHill talking about his conditioning. He said he didnt start running till 3 days before camp.... WTF ?

Just found that odd... and felt somewhat resentful. Had LOWpez, Warrick, or some lessers said such words, they would be roasted.

Grant is not in shape to play more than 5 minute stretches, 20 mins per night. He should just accept it and embrace a limited though important role off the bench.

Agreed, but who comes in for him? Or, are you in favour of the "start Hak at SF" express Frank?

Grant had knee surgery, - that's why he didn't run.

My apologies to GHill, and glad there is a reason.

From the tone of the article, perhaps a few others were anticipating some over-the-Hill-ness

You can tell by just looking at Gran Hill's arms and overall shape, that he eats healthy, lifts high rep low weights to burn to fat etc.

No sign of holiday weight gain, off season slacking and laziness in general.

The man is 39 years old and has a body 95% of 20-25 year olds dream of..... hard work is a regularity for him. Didn't doubt his work ethic.... but fuel tank, joints, explosiveness etc on the long haul because he is playing starter minutes as a 39 year old..... he should be a backup KEY defender for a contender.

If Grant wasn't 100% ready to go then he shouldn't be getting so much court time (if any at all).

Gentry needs to man up and learn how to keep his players in check. Play Childress until Grant is ready to go. Worst it could do is up Childress' value as it can't get any lower. Who knows, he might pull off the odd decent game or two and be offloadable for something.

I'd rather be 4-8 with a marginally valuable Childress and a healthy Grant, than 4-8 with a bench ridden Childress and a worn out Grant.

Because that would be logical, and Gentry is inept. That or Gentry is trying to lose games on purpose.

Gentry has always had the rep of a "players coach" with light training sessions and veteran favoritism. Perhaps now that we only have 2 established vets that deserve that kind of treatment, we do need a tougher coach at the helm. Coddling elder statesmen like VC and Frye obviously doesn't work and we need someone who isn't afraid to get in players' faces.

I can only imagine what effect this is having on our youth (see Lopez..)

Lopez must be back to being slightly injured, because he just sucks out there. We should have tried to trade him after that first game, whenhe scored 21 off the bench.

As for Gentry, he needs to fired. He was only good for Goran, and Goran is gone. Gentry makes a good assistant coach. He is like Ivaroni, really good assistant coach but not head coach.

He just doesn't make the right adjustments needed to win ballgames. He lets the other team go on runs, while our team can't score to save their lives, takes a timeout, and makes no changes. We have a bunch of winnable games this year. A few more losses, and I see him getting canned, since we probably won't make any trades because we might hinder the 2012 cap space.

Which coach would be available? Larry Brown? Jerry Sloan? I don't think these are the type of coaches you want during a rebuild. Right now, it would be bad to fire Gentry because a new coach needs his time to work with a team. If we decide to tank and trade Nash/Hill it would be another question.

Nothing against Majerle or Turner as an interims coach, but I still like Gentry though.

Not sure who we'd pick up. More than likely promote from within until next year when we go for the new team. I could see Majerle moving up just because he is a big name already in PHX.

I just don't like Gentry. The only thing I can count on him for is making sure we lose a game.
