Because he sucked in 2010-2011 and 2008-2009. He wasn't able to run an offense and we were trying to make the playoffs. Giving up a pick was a mistake though.

The 09/10 team was cute, but they weren't as good as D'Antoni's Suns.
Unfortunately, didn't have the All-NBA defensive team caliber defenders that the earlier teams had, and had worse low-post play. Kinda important things to have in the playoffs...

Even if we got by the Lakers, Boston likely woulda beaten us the finals, whereas the 2007 team woulda crushed the Cavs, or a healthy 2006 team woulda beat the Heat (and Mavs too prior). The 2005 team with a healthy Joe Johnson might have gone all the way as well, alltho not as likely as the other 2 teams.

Still a great team tho, obviously.

From a pure entertainment standpoint, I'd say that 2004-2005 team with pre-microfracture surgery Amare, breakout year Steve, young Joe Johnson, Q, Marion, etc takes the cake.

The 09/10 team, skill wise, might not have been the best in Suns era, but was the best TEAM. My favorite Suns team, ever. IMO, we were the best team in the NBA that year. If Frye would have shown up in a game in LA, who knows. Maybe 2 sweeps in a row.

I miss Amare. :(

I wish Amare pulled down more than 4 rebounds in his last game as a Sun.

Nash had 5.

Such is STAT.

I hate sarver so much... blew up a team that could have contended for the finals the past two seasons had they kept the core together.

Return to Phoenix Suns
