Bu yeah, we should still trade his ass.

I wanted DeAndre Jordan at the time because I felt he had the most upside. Still confused how he fell so far, supposed lack of work ethic and all.

We should for less than 2 million a year on a short deal. He's a decent backup center who is still young and knows the system. Anything over 2mill a year though and I wouldn't, I think he's proven he's a career long backup.

Oh yeah I forgot about Jordan. Truth be told he hadn't really done much either until he had Griffin come along and take the pressure off him like Amare with Lopez. But yeah he's looking decent right now.

His per 36 production is basically the same it was before Griffin his minutes have just gone up. I likely wouldn't have wanted to give him the contract he just got though.

If Lopez walks this summer, it will be because we need his cap money to sign a free agent that we feel will be more valuable. It is possible that some team will offer Lopez a ridiculous amount of money, but it sounds like his people were wanting a ridiculous amount of money for an extension. Sounds also like Lopez is not happy playing behind Gortat. He certainly is pushing.

Anyway. Teams usually only offer extensions at this stage to the best of the upcoming rfa class. Lopez just does not qualify. Babby is making the right move.

Letting Lopez walk for nothing would be incredibly stupid. As unproductive as he is he's still a young 7 footer which automatically makes him more attractive than some of the 2nd/3rd string bigs on other rosters.

And while he is fairly weak at rebounding, he can score at times. And maybe with a new coach and some confidence, a team could feel like they can get something out of him.

Lopez isnt worth what he will command on the open market this summer and he isnt making much right now so it isnt like the capspace is a deal breaker. I still think he has value dont forget he is still a legit athletic 7 footer who is onlu 23 years old; many teams are willing to gamble on that.

His only problem is his head. If you take someone elses brain and put them in Lopez's body he could be a legit starter. You've all seen the 'wow' flashes when he has his head on straight. The kid just needs to grow up.

Package him with Nash to backup Howard and send them both to Orlando in a multi-team trade. Im sure for those 2 we can get a 1st rounder this year (middle of the pack) some expirings or a trade exception and either a young player with promise who cant find minutes somewhere or another future first rounder. Make it so. Orlando still has JRich so it shouldnt take long for the team to get it together.

Ah dammit I forgot JRich slept with Nash's wife never mind :/

How much would he get in free agency I wonder? I am totally fine with giving him around 2-3 million per year but any more than that and I would let him walk or trade him.

I agree we should resign him... at the right price. Since we are not going to sign him to an extension and we're not likely to match an offer I think he may be traded at the deadline.

I say trade him and wash our hands. You dont want to rebuild with players who have mental/emotional problems.

Speaking of whining millionaires; I enjoyed watching the New York game just to see Amare cry to the refs every time he had the ball begging for a foul. I wonder if he still gets technical fouls all the time like he use to.

I sure dont miss that part of his game.

Maybe we should try to pick up Brook Lopez cheap and run a Brook Gortat twin towers lineup? lol

If the Rox really dont want T. Will, then send them back and forth for eachother. They think he is dumb as a box of rocks, and we KNOW Robin is as dumb as a box of rocks. If we were to get Williams, then please end this cruel Michael Redd experiement, he isnt going to help long term, and let Williams start at Sg, and learn, succeed, fail, whatever. Just force feed him at the Sg. for the rest of the year, weather we keep Nash and Hill or not, and see if he can get it. Maybe a change of scenery slash system slash teammates, will be good for him.
