I don't understand why Gentry didn't even throw Wes Johnson in there for a few minutes. Shannon Brown killed us last night.

What I don't understand is why Scola didn't play most of 4th quarter, I think that if he had play at least half of that quarter Suns would have get the game

great game, besides the loss. this game was just a glimpse of great things to come. we had some chemistry issues but that will be fixed over time. our 3pt shooting was off but our defense was awesome.
pj tucker was amazing doing all the little stuff lou use to do. beasley had an off game but nothing to worry about. goran and dudley were amazing, gortat was a shot blocking machine, and scola gave me wood.
shannon wasnt as bad as some have expressed. i personally, would rather of had him taking more shots when the second unit is out on the floor
with all that said, im really excited to see what this team can do with all this potential :cowboy:

I'm encouraged by the way this team played tonight - would have been great to eke out a win but that's how it goes. The hustle was there but we just missed too many open looks that a quality team with swagger would make (this extends to free throws as well). Full credit to the Dubs though, I wouldn't sleep on them this year and wouldn't be surprised if they sneak into the playoffs (health permitting).

I love how both starting bigs are double digit board threats every night. Still need to work on keeping opponents off the offensive glass, but we're better than we were a year ago and the fundamentals seem to be there.

I love the D that the new guys are bringing. The hustle is certainly ahead of the talent right now but I'm ok with that, because the talent will come over time. Hustle is a mentality and as long as that's there we can't be upset with that.

But most of all, I think i'm going to love not seeing the opposing starting PG drop 30+ on us every night. We have defenders at every position now and I think we'll see us really cause some problems this year.

No crying over spilt milk, but I do feel as though we're one all-star calibre SG away from being a damn fine team. Problem is, there's really not too many in the league right now that haven't already be signed long term.

I think Tyreke would be a great fit at SG for the Warriors - Steph Curry is great but his strength is as a shooting PG and his playmaking is ancillary to that. Reke could give them an element of primary playmaking they otherwise lack without being exposed defensively like Monta was.

Hello everybody after this long holiday period.

So, was not Jamaal Crawford our man, after all?

Getting Jamaal, who everubody was demanding, instead of Beasley, and playing Dudley and Tucker at the three would have been great.

Check out J's numbers from today.

Thats Crawford's MO. He will have games where he lights it up but more often than not he is going to put up lines like 4-12, 9 points. He is Beasley at a different position. A low efficiency gunner who does not contribute much elsewhere.

Jamal Crawford is also 32 and not 23. The team was not looking for a bunch of aging veterans.

We already have a Jamal Crawford. His name is Shannon Brown. They're both inconsistent, undependable, generally worthless players.

Brown is also younger and a much better defender making less and the Suns can get out of his contract after the season.

The guy the Suns could have(and probably would have had they known what he ended up signing for) pursued is Delfino.

Didn't see the game.... and so the box score was misleading about Shannon the Cannon's play ? The guy is not bashful to chuck. It was his MO from last yr so no surprises right?

Seems like Gentry will have to 'right' with his rotations.... which may be a tall call. This yr's wins may come down to whether or not our slingers Beasley, Brown, and Dudley are hitting their shots.

Again.... no surprises right ?

Glad to see the defense is there. We's better bring the hustle every night if we want to compete
What ? Me Worry ?

Disappointed by the loss, could have easily been a win.

Also wondering why PJ Tucker got so much burn over Wes Johnson. Tom Chambers was talkin him up in the pregame, comparing him to Scottie Pippen

And also disappointed to see Dragic pass on the last shot. I would have preferred the Dragon take a shot in the dark then pass to Tucker for a miracle half court shot that didn't even get off in time. Hell I would've rather seen Thunder Dan lace them up and take the shot there lol

Gunna be a loooooooooong season boys. My guess is Gentry becomes the scapegoat and he eventually gets replaced by someone even more incompetent. Seems to be the trend.

What really hurt us was when there was 6 minutes or so left, Suns kept chucking up 3's instead of taking it inside for easier shots. At that time we had a 6 point lead and bombing 3's like we were down by 10+. I didn't enjoy watching that but hope they learn to change their game next time around.

It wouldnt be a season opener without a heartbreaking PHX loss - I still remember that Eric Gordon buzzer beater last year.

And when I suggested a player like Delfino, I was criticized.

Delfino in Europe has showed a lot of talent, in NBA he landed in teams that didn't have team play, although, even the watered down NBA version of Delfino is clearly miles ahead Shannon Brown.

AFAIK, both Brown's salary is higher than Delfino, and Delfino's second year is team option.

Any average coach in Europe understands how better is Delfino than Brown, in USA is not as obvious?

Because he was hustling, getting offensive rebounds and making shots. Basically playing hard.

Shannon Brown - he's really strong playeyr, but his efficiency depends of coach. He's a natural born slasher, NOT a shooter. He's made for ISO, 1 on 1, transition, not for perimeter patrol. If we need a go to guy in 2nd unit - here he is. But he must have the ball, have 1 or 2 picks, f.ex.

I was at the game with my son... Loved the way Dragic dominated Curry in both offense and defense. Love the presence that Scola brings, he is so very solid and we are lucky to have gotten him. The defense is much improved, seemed that Scola and Gortat were changing shots all night and blocked thier fair share. I thought that the one thing we were missing was a consistent offensive threat and thought even though Tucker was having the game of his life, that Gentry should have given Beasly another shot to get going at like 5 mins to go in the 4th quarter or so, you can never count out a shooter, unless that shooter is shannon brown!! Blame the loss on Gentry really, was really confused as to why he played the bench SO MUCH, and Duds had 10 points in the 1st quarter, and really didnt get involved in the offense after that. He rode the bench for a long time and then didnt really have many plays run for him afterward, duds had it going in the 1st.

It's hard to forget it when every picture of Eric Gordon on the wiretap is him fist pumping after hitting that shot.

I'm a GS fan and I like Dragic a lot. But it's important to remember you didn't get the real Curry in that game. He wasn't moving right, and it affected every aspect of his game.
