I bet they will continue to grow together during this season and make it into the playoffs.

The only thing that I would like to see more of out of all our players is the passion and energy that Telfair has.

Good game. 8-)

While I love your optimism, I accept your bet. As great as last night ws, sometimes good teams lose...woudnt get too excited. If you examine the entire season's schedule you will see this is the creampuff section for us so its hard for me to get to excited about being .500 oy 8 games in.

I seriously think we should look into trading for a backup big man. The Bucks have 4 centers that are all capable of being decent backups for us and would fit well here imo.

Ekpe Udoh, Samuel Dalembert, Larry Sanders, and Joel Pryzbilla. I think we can maybe acquire one of those guys for the two LAL 2nd rd picks or something.

I liked how we looked playing small ball with Scola at the 5 and tucker/beasley at the 4.

i can not share this optimism yet. my concern is that the suns too much depend on what some of their black holes are doing. especially beasley is not useful all around. i hope he can somehow get it together or it will end like waiting for childress to happen.

I think draft picks are more valuable to us right now than a back-up center.

I havent been too pleased with Beas either then I have to remind myself that he has so much talent hes worth waiting to see if he can start to put it together. And I cant get too mad at Beas even if he doesnt hit his potential because we got him on a pretty fair contract so theres not much risk.

Still even when hes playing well he always looks disinterested and half asleep it kind of drives me crazy.

Two second round picks netting us a nice little backup center is worth it. Probably better use than hoping those picks turn out to be something.

We have got to stop thinking of draft picks as miracle potions. They are not. They are merely assets. Assets that can be used on their own merits or as part of something else. Assets. Just assets. They are not guarantees.

Couple things here... 1st off, a team in our position needs to be taking shots on draft picks, even if they are extremely hit or miss, and giving up opportunities to build for the future in order to bring in a below average backup center seems very counter productive.

Secondly, those 2nd round picks are hard to call assets. The only way those are usable on their own in a trade is if a team is doing a salary dump, and I dont think the Suns should be taking on more dead money unless we are getting something for the future out of it.

Draft picks are tough. The Suns have done a terrible job in recent years evaluating draft picks, whether it be for our own use or guys we pass up to possibly fill a need. If we have a better scouting team, I say keep our picks, and draft a few guys we can keep overseas until we need them, or they develope. In a way, we can spread those picks over multiple years.

However, this coming season we are set to have five draft picks. That seems quite a lot of rookies to bring in all at once. If we can get a starting SG using a couple of those picks, I'm all for it.

You can use those picks to move up on the draft or package them with something else for a player more valuable than a backup center in a meaningless season.

Yup, draft players with those picks then make couple of smart trades and bring in a few stars. I wanna start winning sooner the better.

I wish they would give Marshall at least 5-10 minutes per game. Maybe start off at 5 and let him work himself into a bigger role. Telfair plays pesky defense and all, but really, what's the point of giving him all the backup PG minutes? Marshall will take some time to develop, but he's not going to develop just sitting on the bench, only playing in scrimmages during practice.

Yeah, I agree. He would definitely get our bench to start sharing the ball more, which has seemed to be a problem for us this year.

Because may be Telfair is the better player.... and makes his unit better... improving chemistry etc... these guys have to learn to play together.

If Marshall isn't ready, why throw him to the wolves ? The kid needs to prove himself in practice and be the better player than Telfair... which obviously he has not.

and BTW... Telfair is 27 and just might be appreciative to getting a 6th chance to make it in the league. He remains healthy for the next 3-4 yrs, he could be quite an effective back up PG at a very decent price. Also, it is clear to me, he is becoming a reasonably desirable asset for trading if need be. There are a lot worse second fiddling PGs. I think he may be playing as good of ball as he ever has. Remember, he was 19 when drafted and was shuttled around the league.

I understand the Marshall Love.... and clamoring for playing time, but Marshal isn't going anywhere. Playing him now just might negate any value he has. The guy has to earn his minutes and keep.
What ? Me Worry ?
