Fact is though, pretty much anybody will look bad trying to take Nash's place. But he is Goran Dragic and not Steve Nash, nor is he trying to be Nash. As our best player he should be playing ~38 minutes per game.

Well I'll somewhat agree with you there. I've noticed a lot of games where Dragic or another starter is having a good game (or a couple players on the bench are having play well) and Gentry sticks to a 10 man rotation, playing the starters most of the first and third, and the bench most of the second and fourth instead of putting a good mixed lineup out there.

you have to build a team which fits together well.
look at the lakers and in comparison the grizzlies. the grizzlies lost j mayo this off season and look even better.
why? because now they have a unit that is in sync to each other.
same with the spurs. they have aging stars d quite lot of role players who get utilized the best way.
that is part front offices work part coaches work.
so this suns roster lacks individual talent as well team synchronization.
the best role model for the opposite was 2010 wcf team.
it had individual talent with nash and stat AND most important a group of players who completed each other. hell even robin lopez looked like suns future back then.
and you can find other teams in recent history who lacked superstar power but were a really good fitting team.
so stop hoping beasley will turn a corner or someone else will.
this works only on a team basis.

I just dont know what lineups you expect to get put out there. He has been pretty flexible with how inconsistent his players are.

Phraz I think the inconsistency might be due in part to the fact that guys don't know when and for how long they will be playing, from one game to the next.

I was gobsmacked that Dudley wasn't brought back in in the 4th today, particularly after seeing how good the new starting 5 played together, and how defensively porous we were down the stretch with Beasley in his place.

I know what you mean, but I think just about every win we have has come because Gentry has ridden hot hands. IMO Bealsey should never be on the court... period... but I dont think Gentry has the leeway to dump him this quickly. None of our players are standing out from the guy behind them on the depth chart, except maybe Tucker... and they're all wildly inconsistent on offense (and most have been for their entire careers). I think its a really tough team to coach.

Second worst record in the west behind only New Orleans which is missing Davis and Gordon.

i feel the same...and the fact that this team is made up of a bunch of guys who have a 10% chance of going off any particular night. that in and of itself makes it a terrible team to coach. constantly rotating guys in and out just to see who's on that night.

and god forbid its Beasley who's got the hot hand, because he basically cancels himself out (and the rest of the team) on the defensive end.

HOF players = 90/10
STAR players = 75/25
GOOD players = 50/50
ROLE players = 10/90

we have a couple good players, and a BUNCH of role players. and when nobody's hot, its a guaranteed loss. and it seems like Gentry is just cycling through guys just to figure out if any of them are hot on a particular night. this team NEEDS a star or two that can carry the team. and without it we are just spinning our wheels every night.

Mann I don't feel like watching games anymore.
Glad I didn't watch the last 2 games.

What the hell is Suns rotation of players? Nobody can be hot every night.
How the hell team does it work like that?
Scrub team :( I thought there was still play off hopes but no. Suns will be in bottom 3 for sure.
So much hope for this team lol. Glad I didn't subscribe for team season on nbatv, was close to.

Gentry why you putting the starters on bench 4th. if you want to put the bench guys on 4th,
why not let them start rather than putting them later in a game. No idea wtf is going in this team anymore.

Gentry.... going out soon?

Enjoy the losing spree. Oh yea there will be win every 10 games in a while hehe

I doubt they fire gentry due to the fact that he has the excuse that nash is gone who basically was the teams franchise player for years. Gortat has to go i supported gortat but hes not even showing effort i have some early games recorded from season and to the games i watch now hes tanked on us effort not the same. Its clear M beas is who we thought he was a guy who under achieves but on some nights can go off. Ill continue to watch suns games because im a fan but i hope we can dump scola or M beas before deadline im almost positive by now gortat is gone. (nothing is wrong with Scola) I always bashed on frye but he spreads the floor better and tbh plays better D i know scola is active with his hands and all but his size just lets other pfs own him.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.
