Glad to see other sensible posters. Makes zero sense for Memphis to get to shed salary AND get picks in the process, if anything they need to send multiple picks to us for absorbing that albatross contract. Memphis is insane if they think Rudy Gay is some all-star talent that is not only worth his contract, but also commands additional value.

$6.5 if you waive Bassy.

Even less than that if the Lakers pick ends up becoming a lotto pick....then it'll be closer to like $4.5 mill.

So by getting Gay, you blow your chance at max cap space

It would be closer to about 8mil in cap space from what I can tell, not that I would support any trade for Gay. I would also expect Scola to be moved. When the Suns acquired him Gambo tweeted that his contract has a 440K buyout the final year and he's still serviceable so I expect an easy sell.

Need the capspace for what? To sign Bad Players like beasley? I mean they should have a plan which Player to sign, where to go to.. I would be pissed if we have alot capspace and won't sign a Player who helps us..

Props to the great one

They need cap space to provide increased flexibility to pursue a star player when one becomes available. I'd be pissed if they used a lot of cap space on 2nd/3rd rate stars in hopes of turning the Suns into a 1 and done treadmill team.

Exactly what will Happen... We are Not the Destination for an Alpha Tier Player... Sad but True

Right... Nash, Amare, Barkley, Johnson, they may have played here but they probably hated it. We should target high paid scrubs because we should be content sucking.

Suns have most certainly shown the ability to attract alpha tier players when they have a competitive roster. Right now that isn't the case but it can change quickly with the next 2 drafts. There aren't even any such players available right now so it'd be best to accumulate assets, whether or not that's what they decide to do.

Can't we just sell them on the beautiful weather in Phoenix? And the golf courses? And... there's gotta be other great things here, too.

How about these trades?
Dudley + both laker picks this year for R. Gay...and btw they are making the playoffs (I am calling it now)
then
Gortat, Beasly, Brown for J Smooth, A Morrow

Starting fire looks like this
at 1 Dragic
at 2 A. Morrow
at 3 R. Gay
at 4 J. Smith
at 5 J. Oneal

granted this might hurt our chances this year at a better pick, but we will have a good building block.
tell me what u think?

Again, for Memphis, this is a salary dump.... they need to add picks, not us. We don't 'need' to take on Gay's contract, but Memphis does 'need' to dump it. If they want us to absorb that thing, they need to sweeten the deal.

Or
