Anyway

When sarver sells and that weirdo mr orange leaves the suns can get back to a respectable franchise!

Sorry you feel that way, but I am not going anywhere and Lindsey is the interim coach.

1. Babby says that Gentry didn't get fired because of unmatched expectations. What the hell was he thinking? Our front office said before the season that this team has more talent on the roster than last year and that they would expect the team to make the playoffs. This team cleary can't make the playoffs but they played hard every night. Props to Gentry for this.

2. Gambo says Gentry got fired because of the lack of player developement. Gentry has shown that he can develop prospects (pre-injury Lopez, Dragic, even Morris did solid last year) yet they bring in veterans like O'Neal and Scola who will eat up minutes in the rotation, keep Telfair who beat out Marshall for the spot and on top of that sign someone like Luke Zeller and describe him as 'one of the best shooters on this planet'.

3. Woj and Stein say that Lindsey Hunter, as soon as they brought him into the organasition, was regarded as the future head coach on this team and that it was clear that they won't extend Gentrys contract. I have no problem with Hunter but why the hell do you keep Gentry at the beginning of the season? Why don't you simply let Hunter become the headcoach and focus on developement earlier?

I don't even care who will be the next headcoach. Every positives feelings I had about this francise and its future just went out of the door. This whole situation shows that our front office completely lacks any kind of vision and competence something that they have showed at the beginning of the season.

Meanwhile, our center openly roots for Stan van Gundy on twitter and our #13th pick in the draft tells us how hungry he is after pancakes.

Multiple reports say that they are looking to make some moves at the trading deadline. Dudley gets mentioned. Dragic just lost his mentor and now plays for the regime that gave up on him. Let them seek out the last heart out of this francise, I don't even care. I don't know why I should invest any time in this team. Some might call me a bad fan but the way this whole situation pan out, how our front office acted like in the last years I don't see any reason to support this mess. For me, Babby and Blanks lost credibility in our community, which began with the Nash to LA trade, the G-Hill situation and now this. This can be seen on this board, it can be seen throughout the national and local media, it can be seen in an empty US-Airways center where the attendance continues to drop. Watch them mess up our next two lottery picks and welcome to a 10-year rebuilding process.

Dead on with the credibility for sure from Lon and Lance. Out the window after they would not allow Steve or Grant to stay.

My buddy who talks to Dan said that if he (Majerle) wasn't offered the intern spot he was going to quit. I know there were rumors floating around about it already but I just wanted to share that. Also apparently the reason for hiring hunter over the two ast coaches is because blanks/babby are "trying to put their stamp on the franchise" and want to clear out the old regime.

They've done such a great job of "putting their stamp on the franchise" already. I can't wait to see how much more they can **** it up!

Well we started the season 7-8 which was pretty good for a bunch of guys put together in the off-season.

I thought they were going to bring it together and make the playoffs.

Then they lost 7 in a row BUT there were lots of winnable games.

101-97
106-99
108-98 OT
97-94
98-90

Then we went on a 4 game win streak.

At this point our record was 11-15. If we could have won even 2 of those close games we would have been fine still and playoff bound.

Now we go on another 6 game losing streak BUT with winnable games.

96-93
99-97
97-91
111-107

At this point we are 11-21 but I think witht better coaching we could have been 16-16 taking 5/9 of the close games.

We also won the next game so I believe we could have had a positive record at this point in the season at 17-16.

The suns pretty much crashed and burned at this point because I believe player and fan moral was at an all time low. They were losing and losing close games. Our record was shot and we knew we didnt have a shot at competeing anymore.

Like I said at the beginning of the season I think our roster has more talent then our record shows. I dont think Gentry did a very good job coaching....at all.

Of the 13 games we have managed to win this season 8 of them have been won by double digits.
Of our 28 losses only 12 have been by double digits.

Now I know we are already in the tank so it doesnt matter. But I believe we could have had a much better record.

Dragic13, you should prepare for less minutes for your guy Tucker and more of Beasleys fadeaway 20-footers. I really believe that in the following weeks, guys will appreciate Gentry.

I think our roster has LESS talent than our record shows. I think if the same rosey glasses people wear when looking at our team were applied to the rest of the league then the Suns would clearly stand out as being one of the worst teams, and we are almost certainly the least talented team in the Western Conference, and I dont think its even close.

Our only competition for the cellar in the West is with the Hornets, who are clearly a better team on paper but have been riddled with injury, and the Kings, who have talent but no chemistry. We have way less talent than both AND we also lack chemistry... but I think in our case our chemistry is bad largely because our players suck and are frustrated.

Maybe Sarver saw the home loss vs Milwaukee as an opportunity to scapegoat and fire the coach who was already done at the end of the season enyway. It may seem silly to us but the fact that the Bucks hadn't won in Phoenix since 1987 may have been what set Sarver off. You have to admit the timing is curious.

That game was so bad even tough guy Morris even ate some chestnuts.

I heard it mentioned elsewhere that perhaps with the Lance Armstrong, Manti Te'o scandals along with the Cardinals coaching announcement they could sweep this under the rug during a long layoff and a holiday weekend.

It's pretty clear there was no foresight with how remarkably unprepared they were to name a replacement.

Pretty good interview with Gentry: http://arizonasports.com/41/1603977/Was ... s-presence

Goes out of his way to praise Sarver, noticeably doesn't mention Lon/Lance(keeps calling them "the people in charge"), says Dan/Elston's feelings were hurt, and this stuck out:

Dave Burns: Were you ever comfortable with the presence of Lindsey Hunter with the Phoenix Suns?

Alvin Gentry: (Pause) Uhh...(pause)...I don't think it's that important to answer that. It is what it is. Like I said, the decision has been made and everybody has moved on. It is what it is.
