Steve nash

Post#1 » by Sunsdeuce » Fri Jan 18, 2013 4:16 pm

I admit, i still moniter how he is doing. Even though im still upset with his decision to go to the lakers.

I read a lot of the lakers fans post and watch what commentators say about him. They all say he needs to take more shoots and try and take over more. I think they dont realize that he isnt the player he was 3-4 years ago. Last year witnessed his decline.

Every game i wanted him to take over a game. It never happened. Last year i realized, he cant dominate anymore. He cant and wont get 25+ points a game. He is a 10 point and 9 assist point player now. As good as he keeps his body, his body is a 40 year old man.

Do you guys think commentators and lakers fans are not understanding this?

They obviously don't know him like we do. Asking him to "take over a game" is no longer feasible. The man is damn near 40.

They don't appreciate him enough.

Will guys boo him once he returns to Phoenix? Probably too much Lakers fans in the arena to let that happen.

It is all a part of his plan to give us the lakers picks. His ultimate gift to the Suns team.

I bet he whispers in D. Howards ear after every game "don't let them get into you, man...continue to draw fouls and shoot as many FT as you can, you are helping the team"

Then he walks to Kobe and says "I don't know man, I am really worried about this next few games. And you know, you are the ultimate talent in this team. You should definitely tell D'Anthony that you are not resting at all and play 48 mpg...after all, Lebron is pumping his stats, man...you don't want that whiner to reach your career stats, right?"

Next comes Pau: "I feel you, bro....nobody wants you in this team anymore. I heard they're shopping you like crazy out there. I felt the same my last year in Phoenix, it's brutal. Best we can do is just give up on making any effort to show our abilities, so we can improve our chances of staying with this great group, you know?"

Then to D"Anthony: "wtf, man, we are only the 4th best offense in our conference. We should definitely put less defensive effort into our games til we fix this!"

Last, but not least: "Hey, World Peace...I heard that new guy Earl Clark is dating your mom".

Mission accomplished. Suns get #3 and 6# pick in 2013 draft

I would hope the fans have too much class to boo Steve. He gave us arguably the best years this franchise has ever seen.

I booed Barkley when he came back. Once your on a different team your the enemy.

bTW Barkley, Majerle, Kj, are my all-time favorite players.

Its not about class. When he retires, im all for enbrassing him. But while you are in a different uniform, no embrassing here.

Sadly this makes more sense than the Lakers imploding the way they have; remember before the season people were talking championship? I love your post!

His defense is more horrendous than ever. They go at him every play. That's why they're pissed.

Shoulda known. We won that trade big time.

As a Laker fan in LA, I saw Nash for year and I agree, he is not the player he once was. People in LA like him, but a lot think they gave up to much for him and 27 mil for 3 years is a lot to take. Even a few rumors he will be traded. Lakers suck this year. But not Nash's fault. Class player.

The Suns front office may look stupid for signing Wes, Beasley, etc, and whiffing on a few draft picks, but they look VERY smart for trading Nash and letting Amare walk.

Like I've said before, Amare will never be an all star again. He's done. He got his big contract and he is checked out.

Nash is just too old. His value now is his locker room presence and leadership. He's still a great court general, but as other have said, his defense is worse as ever and he no longer makes shots that used to be automatic.

Add in the fact that we got 4 draft picks for Nash and it's a great deal for us.

to soon to tell, dont jinx it. There's still a good chance the Lakers make the playoffs as a bottom seed, which means the Suns get Miami's pick. And the playoffs may be enough to convince Dwight Howard to resign...and if he resigns then most likely the 2015 pick will not be a lottery pick too. even if the lakers don't make the playoffs, what's the likelihood that their pick will yield another player like Robin Lopez/Earl Clark/Markieff Morris/Kendall Marshall. Throw that in with a few 20 win seasons and I don't consider us the winners of that trade.

Steve Nash has been the same. His defense has gotten worse, but he wasn't exactly Gary Payton to begin with. His game is just bottled up. I feel like he's overwhelmed.

Yes, it was definitely time to move on from Nash and onto the Beasley era.
