Yes, he has been here a few times. He started with Amareisback, which he was promptly waived. I'm sure he is here somewhere.

And to stay on topic, I still doubt Barkley will be our next GM.

Barkley with the right people around him like a smart, salary cap genius assistant GM, and a good Pres of Bball Ops (not babby) would be a fantastic GM.

I agree but I don't think Sarver would ever do it. I would love to see it happen though.

It is reasonable to think Charles would do a respectable job... and the franchise could use his face and personality when dealing with the media for sure. As an analyst he has to be entertaining so I wouldn't expect him to fly off the handle and do some crazy vet trade as an actual GM.

But Chuck says a lot of things. He also wants to be the governor of Alabama. The guy can't find China on a map. He knows one thing... basketball. He should probably just keep doing what he does. Because IDK if he can handle some advanced stat and CBA guys saying hey Chuck... I know you don't understand this trade idea... but with the CBA & advanced stats it makes sense... even if it hurts our shot at a ring right now. This is a business Chuck... and we gotta make the playoffs next year too... How does he react to that... IDK

I would love for chuck to get a chance to g.m. for our team, I mean the shock value alone for some of the things he'd do would most likely send sarver over the edge. Also he would undoubtedly be very entertaining. And honestly the bottomline is ....... he really can't do any worse than blanks right?

I would like Barkley to meet with the Morris twins and challenge them to be the best rebounders in the league and perhaps coach them to do so. Then we would know that their role is to just alternate into the game and be rebounding maniacs, hit occasional threes, provide muscle and havoc.

Like having a starter play 48 minutes every night!

Or a bench player playing 48 minutes every night.... :-?

I can assure you all one thing. Charles Barkley as our GM would want absolutely nothing less than a championship. He would kill to bring a ring to PHX and win one as a GM. He would not give a crap about saving money for Sarver or listening to any of the crap that Sarver would tell him.

I'm starting to think either you love to make jokes, or you are completely insane. If it is the first, please put it in the green font, if the latter, please get help. :D

It seems that people don't even know Barkley. He isn't a guy that makes well thought out decisions. He is a gambler, and often, not a good one at that. He has brought no one a chip. He didn't even know the guys in the slam dunk contest, and when they do that quiz of which teams guys are on, he does a piss poor job. He doesn't know players in the league, and it's his flicking job.

Now is it fun watching him make an arse of himself? Sure. Was he a great rebounder? Yep. Is he a great evaluater of talent? Who knows? Is he good with spending money? Hell no!

He could do a fine job, but I don't think his track record shows a smart person, good with money, and wise on his decisions. :( Three things we need in a GM.

RDG, I don't mean to diss you in any way, just wondering, what's up with all the negativity? Is the state of the team that disappointed you that much? I remember you more cheerful :P

I'm fine, thanks for your concern. Just got fed up with the children telling me how the future will turn out, when they seem to have no idea about history. :D

Well at least you had the opportunity to watch the best days of the suns (I assume). I, as a 21yo from greece started following the SUNS the year after the Diaw breakthrough. But although I'm fairly a new fan, I'm not changing my team :) (well I have a mancrush on KD but he's a once in a generation talent :P) So, you don't see any bright ligh on our future with this current FO?

I don't know. It seems too early to tell, but everyone Sarver has chosen to lead the team has had huge hiccups in judgement. We don't draft well over the last decade, and we seem to continue to want back guys we draft and send out to other teams.

I think a lot of fans thought that the Colangelos were awesome, but they put the team in such a major debt. I'm just glad the team is still in PHX, because I have been a PHX Suns fan since the late seventies, and I don't want to change. They are really the only major sports team I follow now.

I don't search for old games often, Kerrsed might be the man for that. But they seem to show the 93 finals on NBAtv here and there. But I lived through them, so it isn't all that fun to watch for me. Plus Magic commentates every game, which royally sucks to listen to.

Game 6 of the finals was on youtube but I'm not sure if it's there anymore.

I think most want Charles Barkley as the "face" GM... but actually want a more intellectual capable "assistant" GM next to him doing the thinking.

Barkley = Attention to the Suns, perhaps extra income to the franchise from Barkley being a celebrity and all. I wouldnt want Barkley making sole decisions.... but am for it as a "face" / "marketing" type.... like a front office "window" person.
