He's going before us, we screwed up.

Yes, well all want the number one pick in the draft and wouldn't mind losing after giving our best effort, but fortunately for our current guys and unfortunately for our draft pick we are looking pretty good lately.

I agree with the post about Charlotte, Minny, and the rest who "suck balls," every year, get a top 5 pick and still suck.....see GS right now; it is in their culture to suck hard, not ours......

I am guaranteeing the basketball gods will shine down on us this summer; you may not know it that day, but you will in the future....see Amare right now!

I am seeing a bunch of young guys that are looking pretty good right now; you add a top pick and top Vet, then we will have a team.

Minnesota has a better future than us because of Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, Pekovic, Shved etc. (most of whom are top 10 picks) Had their team not been hit with the injury bug, that would have been a contender.

Golden State used their top picks (Curry, Thompson, Barnes) and now are a rising playoff team. That's actually my point.

Excuses, excuses....Minny is trash! GS is fading faster than Lebron's hairline!

You do know that Pek went 31st and Sved wasn't drafted, right? Yes GS after 18 years, have seemed to have righted their ship. How about all their other top picks that brought them nothing? Out of GS's team. Which one of their draft picks was the allstar? Lee, wasn't drafted by them. One could easily argue that Mark Jackson is the reason GS has stepped up.

Love has missed most of this season, and Ricky has missed a bunch both this year and last. It's a crapshoot. It always has, and always will be. The more these young guys skip learning the fundamentals, the longer it will take them to reach their potential. Ifthe tea isn't established, more than likely they can't keep those rising stars.

Look, I understand all the anger, but many of you guys try and skip the actual facts to insert your opinions, forgetting all logic.

:D

Plus, some here act as if there is a "sure fire" 'can't miss" super star in the draft.... This year is definitely a crap shoot 1-10; as long as we are there, I am fine.

Its amazing to me, that some pople whine about winning... Especially if you have ever seen an NBA draft in your life. Firstly there is no guarantee you will get a no1 pick, even if your record sucks the most. Seconly the differentc between picks 1-5 is not that much better then 6-10, especially not that much better to suffer through 15 more losses per season, watch your guys mentality break and also team chemistry, because make no mistake, whenever a team is losing and losing a lot team chemistry goes into the crapper.

So lets just look at the top 5 picks in each draft and then picks 6-10:

2012 draft:
Anthony Davis
Kidd-Gilchrist
Bradley Beal
Dion Waiters
Thomas Robinson

and then you have
Damian Lillard
Harrison Barnes
Terrence Ross
Andre Drummond
Austin Rivers

If you just look at these two groups they are not that much different.

The 2011 draft was weak from 2-10. Even with the second or thrid pick you would not be able to build a good team. Willimas, Kantar, Thomson are not players who could pull a lotto team out of the lottery and would especially not make your team much better then a Brevin Knight would, who was picked 8th or Kemba Walker who was picked 9th.

Or look at the 2010 draft. You have Turner as the second pick, Favors as the 3rd pick, Johnson the 4th. Cousins who is IMO the second best player in the draft was 5th, Hayward was 9th and George who is the best player in the draft was 10th!

Like i said having the 2nd, 3rd or 4th pick isnt a much bigger guarantee that you will get a better player with that pick then with the 5th-10th pick. I think its got to do with the fact, that picks 2-5 are wasted on players with potential, who have the chance to be great, but more often then not, they don't develop as expected. Picks 6-10 are usually players who have proven themselves in colage but are thought of as reaching their ful potential, which often isn't the case at all.

Only the no1 pick in the draft is a 80% chance of getting a franchise player, and even that is not a sure thing, but as far as all-stars go there are just as many picked 6-10 then there are 2-5.

Would you really want to waste a whole season for a Derrick Williams, Bradley Beal, Kantar, Favors etc?

Looks like Utah doesn't mind sucking in order to get a better draft pick...

According to who? Some sources that aren't named, nor quoted. That was a waste of a few minutes to read. :( And why in the pseudo game thread?
