Well Christians should be followers of Christ. He preached tolerance and love; moreover, he was quite against corruption and greed. So it would make more sense to be gay and a Christian than a politician and Christian. What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. 11 And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.
1st Corinthians 6:9-11
Jesus preached love and tolerance yes. No arguements, but when such matters clearly cross the line of God's Law, that is when there is a limit to it. You dont see Christian churches preaching to "love terrorists" because their action also clearly crosses God's Law.
It's listed like it is a conscious choice, and that it is something that's wrong. There are many things listed in the bible that just doesn't hold true to today's society. Read Leviticus. I'm not saying that one should not believe what they want. I just don't see how one could take everything in the bible literally, when so much of it was word of mouth stories that were told over many years before they were written down. And they were a collection of books that were written by man, and then decided on by men,to beput together. After that, there were many translations, words get lost, meanings get clouded, or even completely incorrect. I look at the bible as a guide,on how one should live their life. I just don't think Christ would want us to judge people based on what was written in the bible. I think he would say, "He who is without sin cast the first stone."
As far as Christians, I think they have often crossed God's law, and many times using His name as a reason, when it was never their place to do so.
