unfortunately there would be no room for him during the regular season as the suns have 14 players under guaranteed contracts, and I doubt they would waive Oriakhi to resign Johnson. which like Tastic said is shame that Brown wasn't waived. I don't think anyone here would prefer to have Brown over Johnson, and its not like Johnson would command more than what Brown currently gets paid by any team.

I doubt we keep him but I think its more because the team does not think much of him. If they like him they could work out a way to keep him on the team. Both Morris, although they suck, could be moved for a 2nd rounder with tons of protection (IE even away), Scola could be moved easily. And IMO Oriakhi is more likely to end up in the D-League or cut than to make the roster for opening night.

I would have rather kept Johnson than Brown. I can't watch the rest of the team set up the play and then when Brown gets the ball he starts dribbling and doing nothing and then takes a contested long 2. I think Wes is about 2 years younger and plays the SG/SF which is more along the lines of what we need now that Dudley is gone and Bledsoe is in, who like Brown (and probably Goodwin and Dragic) could play both guard positions.

I think my opinion is sort of in hindsight obviously with the Bledsoe trade but I just feel Wes would be better with the roster as it is now.

I would love to keep Wes.

Hustles hard for boards, good defender, super athletic, and when hot, one of the best shooters on the team.

With Duds gone, I wouldnt mind him starting at the 3- his natural position to see how he fares next season.

Get it done McDonut

Yes, this. Trade Scola, cut Lee. Cut Garrett. Sign Wes Johnson.

Dragic, Goodwin, Marshall
Bledsoe, Goodwin, Brown
Johnson, Tucker, Cus Morris
Frye, Keef Morris, Beasley
Gortat, Len, Fry

We still have too many players. We really need to pare down this roster. Too many players makes for bad chemistry.

Looks like Wes signed with the Lakers for the minimum. That should tell everyone what his value was around the league.

Still higher than Brown's. I can only think that McDonough is thinking Brown + Gortat = a max guy we can bring in. What max player that cold possibly be I have no idea...

I still would like to see some speculation on this. You have no idea at all?

I was really hoping the Suns would keep Wes. There were times his shot made me think of Walter Davis, one of my favorite all time Suns. I assumed Johnson was going to be a developing part of the future. Darn.

Wes is already 26, he is deficient in all sorts of NBA skills. It would be one thing if he was a "raw" 20 year old player but it seems rather likely that he is not a developing player, just a bad one.
