I still feel we could get more for Scola and Gortat if we split them up. But not a terrible trade idea.

So is today the official day that Scola can be traded?

The over and under is 5PM PST... the eye opening fact that he is our best PF just may inhibit a deal for the sake of dealing move. Scola is a pro and will play where ever he is. I am same boating him and GORTAT.... it isn't a crisis if we keep them.

I completely agree. I believe their value will only increase the closer to the deadline we get. With a new coach and new system, I believe their numbers will look much this season than last. As has been said before, during the season with players on other teams under-performing and/or getting injured, that will only help the Suns in trade talks.

May be one of the more fair trades posted here.... ever. Even if it was a future pick. I don't think we can expect much more for Luis. The Oka4/Gortat is essentially a wash at this point. But boy... we would be horrendous offensively. There is some merit to keeping theG just so our PG's lives are easier. Len may be much more of a project than anticipated. And Frye ??? creepy silence. We surely will hear something soon on him.... else bag him and tag him. We deal theG, we best have a back up plan.

a defender and a rebounder, to start the break. Nice deal

but it may make us too good, if you know what I mean

I'd definitely do this trade. Gortat won't be back next season regardless, and Scola is useless to this team (outside of veteran leadership). Okafor is $14.5M in cap space next off-season, plus we get a pick in what is considered a stacked draft. Even if it's somewhere in the 18-20 range, that's good value for Scola in our situation.

For people that argue about not needing a ton of cap space next summer because the free agent pool isn't as great as they say it is... Okafor is a big expiring contract. He could be moved by the deadline for other pieces... and if that fails... $14.5M in space isn't the worst thing that can happen.

I doubt this trade would get done, but it's actually good for both sides for once.
