There was a myth that the Mike D'Antoni Suns were awful on defense.

That myth was perpetuated by a crappy sports media, parroted by talking heads who didn't have anything real to say about the team.

That myth carried over to the fans who took this simpleton, trite, wholly inaccurate analysis as gospel and who bought into the BS meme that there had to be a change.

That myth forced Kerr and management to force D'Antoni out the door, a door D'Antoni wanted out of by then.

That myth forced Kerr to hire Terry Porter, who was the complete antithesis of everything the Suns stood for and had on the roster, and who eventually became an unmitigated disaster.

That myth forced the team to fire Porter within months, going back to a running and gunning style which, surprise surprise, led us to a 2010 Western Finals berth.

**** that myth. That myth destroyed everything.

Thank goodness you pointed out the casual fan nonsense, who do nothing but worship media loudmouths like Skip Bayless and Jason Whitlock. I would +100 your post if I could.

Also, the casual fan doesn't take time to do any research or formulate any thoughts. Instead we see crap like "I'm lazy or else I would go look up those stats for you and put it out here." What's really sad is our voting population will do the same fricking thing and not research the issues but only listen to and regurgitate crap from their favorite talking head.

Yea I'm sorry but I had better things to do than look up defensive stats for a team played 6-9 years ago. Rsvaj was the one arguing the point that D'Antoni teams weren't awful and he, responsibly, did his hw and went and found the stats to support his claim. Good for him since, again, he was the one arguing my point.

And your really gonna compare me not wanting to look up defensive stats of the Suns teams from 5-9 years ago to politics and people not researching the issues this nation is having? Are you serious? That's not nearly the same thing.

If your gonna try to take a shot at me, you better damn keep it in context.

And as for the matter, I could care less what Bayless or Skip or whoever said. As you should know by now, I don't care what analysts or what anyone says, I make my judgements based on what I see not based on what others see or tell me.

Sorry that was harsh on my part and certainly didn't mean to accuse you of not following important political issues. I just saw Rsavaj formulate a well thought out response to the Suns defense during the SSOL era and it was being summarily squashed by the notion that casual fans know better. Hopefully no hard feelings ... well except for Kate.

I've been out of touch with news lately but when I just saw this part of your post I looked at recent headlines and :o

I am in shock right now, my world is crashing down, I...can't...not...support...JJ, but dammit I may have to.

Let me just go try to figure out the JJ part of my life right now...

I was going to ask you about the case.

There were a few problems I had with the story. How were all the email obtained? The receipt she has from the clinic looks odd. It looks like a copy of a copy. Meaning it looks like a copy of a receipt, then rewritten, then re copied. Also, why keep the relationship together for a year as part of the deal? It doesn't make sense for anyone. Finally the whole Shaq case involving her, which was thrown out by a judge, partly because of what was going on in this case. :o

However, if it is all true, then JJ sucks!

That whole situation is very odd. Redick came out and said it was all lies. He said she was never pregnant. Who do you believe?

Um.... who cares ? .... he is not a SUN. He has joined up with the enemy by proximity. Their drama is purely entertainment and any negative going-ons can be translated to a positive in the desert.

The he said she said they said is syrup for media pancakes gobbled up by a train wreck infatuated public.

I guess that all translates as ' I could care less about the personal lives of any player not of the purple persuasion (or should I say black and orange now? 8-) )

Looks like my first post back made a solid push at derailing a thread

If there are any further thoughts on JJ, let's continue in the community thread (or if anyone is really passionate you can create a new thread). I'll check around with "locals" to see if there's any additional scoop, and if so I'll post it there.

Carry on... :D
