Well played rundog. I forgot that you're the only one who is allowed to demand evidence on a speculative topic, to expect you to live up to the burdens you impose upon others?!?!? Laughable.

This was your post right?

I haven't gotten personal with you here in this thread, so come down off your cross.

lol, that post was in response to your "Gortat must be an alien" post. All in all, my response was rather measured.

Cool, speculate at will, and I will laugh and make jokes at those speculations at will, for it's a message board. I made fun of your comment, not you. :naaa:

Right now, both Horny and McD have said they don't want to trade Gortat, and Gortat has not said he wants to leave. Those are the facts we have.

Fine, thats your right. And when you fly off the handle and make absurd analogies in response to other fans merely questioning something... then you might get called out on it.

Back on topic.

I hate when a GM announces they are looking to trade a player, as a Diamondback fan I've watched Kevin Towers drag two high value trade pieces through the mud before finally moving them for a pittance of what many thought they were worth. So, no matter what McD intends to do, I hope he never outwardly states that he wants to move a guy.

I personally think signs point towards Gortat's departure with the year for all of the previously discussed reasons, Gortat seems to agree. Yes, I am somewhat reading between the lines, but... hey, its my right. When an impending free agent discloses that he is renting a house... with a 3 month extension option for after the trade deadline (what about the playoffs Marcin!?! ) I begin to think he wont be here, and possibly intends to not be here. But thats just me.

Hasn't he been renting a home this whole time? So what is the big deal about that? Does that mean he always thought he would leave PHX?

People need to stop reading too far into this.

Right now I would be more concerned with his foot injury and any possible affect that playing for his national team (if he does), has on that injury. Currently we only have Plumlee as our healthy center.

Again, both our head coach and GM have said they want to keep Gortat. Let's focus on that. :D

Gortat complained throughout the year last year. He has not stated his intention or even an interest in staying with the team post 2014. Those are facts too, chief.

If Gortat were a valuable player, the kind of player your an Lee make him out to be, fans and media would all be freaking out that he hasnt made a public commitment to the team.

Maybe if it was not Gortat himself talking about how he is only renting... and at the same time saying he thinks he is "on the way off". Player is a pending free agent, players has grumbled about the team in the past, player says he only plans on renting through feb with an option until april, no contract extension has been discussed, player says he is "on the way off"... I hardly think I am reading too much into things. But, whatever.

And yes, the foot injury lingering is bad news for everyone no matter what they want to come of this situation, if he misses significant time it kills his trade and contract value. I hope he sits out international play. As a player hoping for the biggest payday of his career if I was him I would not risk it.

You're acting as if the questions of the interview mean nothing. I still think you and others are reading too much into interviews, instead of reading the actual answers he is giving. Moreover, we are just getting bits and pieces of interviews, much of which are translations from Polish.

For the last time, we have a head coach and a GM saying they want to keep him, and a player saying he will try hard.

I still love how two interviews where he rips a coach, who was fired because of the same reasons Gortat was ripping him for, and youngster players that we don't even know if they've been put in their place already or corrected through a better or tougher coach, all of a sudden become constant complaining by Gortat.

We complained all year last year too, and we're not going anywhere.

Look, the only thing we know is that Gortat's contract runs out at the end of this upcoming season. That's IT. We're FANS. We don't know a damn thing that's going through anyone's mind, whether it's the front office, or Gortat himself.

If Len tears it up, then yeah he slides into the starting center position and Gortat might not re-sign. If Len struggles, maybe we want to keep Gortat around since he's, you know, a legitimate player. If Gortat is hurt, he's not going to command much on the trade market and he won't get that much on the FA market either.

Just be patient and stop assuming. Whatever will happen will reveal itself in due time.

After medical examination and extra strengthening exercises on his injured foot Marcin Gortat comes back to Europe on 18th August and will be availalbe for the national team. He might not play in Sundays game vs Belgium because of long flight, but is expected to play some minutes on Monday vs. Italy(depends on coach Dirk Bauerman decision). The biggest news from all of this he is HEALTHY and in form, ready to play at Eurobasket at his full strength - said by press oficer of national team. He will fur sure play in the tournament in Lublin on the days 22-25th August (Great Britan, Ukraine, Sweden).

Gortat looks like he could be a whinger on a losing team, as he has proven this season... could affect the youth and be detrimental to the development process.

I dont blame him... he needs to be on a team who can value his strengths and need him.

- Blazers
- Mavs
- Thunder

Sweeten the deal with those guys to pull it off.

Mavs fan here. I'd offer Dalembert (TO), Ellington (young player), Boston 2014's 2nd for him. We won't be able to trade another first any soon. OKC holds our pick which was traded for Lamar Odom originally.

Suns fan here.

We will only do this if you allow us to throw in Archie Goodwin, Alex Len, and our 3 First Round picks in next year's draft.

OK. Maybe Brandan Wright and Wayne Ellington then. I am not sure we want to part with Wright soon. Anyway he can't be traded until January.
