After lot of thinking, we need to keep Markieff and Marcus. Probably the only guys on this roster that lives in the gym. These guys work hard. Keep on to both. Can't teach determination.

The moves they have made, while often confusing, are clearly aimed towards trying to compete next year and giving up their starting PF for a backup SF in Ariza and Morris, who might not even crack the rotation with Henson and Udoh still on the roster, does not help them win games.
Wash would have to kick in a first, which then we transfer it or one of our others to Milw. Even then, when the Bucks table Illysova, the offers will come rolling. Our best assets may be future ones. We sorely need some PF help.
Not expecting KeifMo to be anything but an adequate bencher, and Frye is just average as well. Other than those two... who we going to run there ? Tucker in a small ball line up ? Perhaps Plumlee, who has yet to do really anything ? Cant see McDo standing pat at the PF spot for too long, especially if opportunity arises.
What ? Me Worry ?

I'm not arguing that Illysova would not be a significant upgrade, he absolutely would. But I just dont think of Ariza and Morris as being assets, especially to a team that is trying to make the playoffs.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 7
When you think of that trade piece by piece... I don't like it.
Basically the Suns give up Gortat/Morris/Pick for Ilyasova, and is the cash coming from PHX, or WAS?
I liked Ilyasova's game a couple years back, and wouldn't mind him on the Suns, but not for that package.
Also, Washington get Gortat for basically Ariza/pick. I'd assume they'd want Gortat locked up...
I'd like to see the Suns work out a deal where they can find a home Gortat is willing to play for, resign him to a good contract, then trade him to that team for better pieces since he isn't going to walk at the end of the season. Granted, that probably won't happen, but it would be nice.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 7
I don't think we can resign theG then trade him. I think I read we are restricted to the amount we can offer him and it is likely less than what he might receive on the open market. I don't see any favors contract wise from theG, unless it has a lengthy term. I don't think that is in our best interest.
If that is the case, it increases the likelihood of a mid season deal, else he's up general bidding.
As far as the above DC deal... if milw wouldn't bite at Ariza/Morris/and Wash's pick, then we could stop the Buck move here.
Take a wiz pick and expiring for theGORTAT anyone ? might be the best offer we get.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 7
Sixers lost Moultrie until January, god they're seriously taking this tank thing a bit far.
I could see Marcus Morris + Brown being dealt there, would make sense for both sides. Morris would fit well next to Young/Turner cos neither have any range but they're both good rebounders.

I think that Moultrie it is not an important player in their rotation, so they are not going to make a trade to repair his absence. Alabi or Khoswal (if one of them make the team) can take some of his minutes until January.

Yeah send the Philly brothers home, along with Shannon the cannon. Philly only have about 4 players on their rosters and half of them are injured.

He's been pencilled in as the starter at PF from quite a few places I've seen. Not to mention I'm pretty sure PHI aren't at the minimum salary mark yet, so Brown as an expiring helps them too.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 7
Philly probably isn't much of a trade partner for us. They are not going to give us someone who is a future asset for anything that is not much of a future asset. They obviously don't care much about filling holes and will not trade a young guy with potential (unless it is someone that could immediately cost them a bunch of money to resign, but even then they have plenty of cap space).
When asked how Fascism starts, Bertrand Russell once said:
"First, they fascinate the fools. Then, they muzzle the intelligent."
