Would the Suns be better this season with Gortat? Yes, but trading him last offseason was the right thing to do going forward.

Exactly... Gortat could be very frustrating but he's better than Plum. He had a pretty underrated mid-range for a center and probably would've walked after the season so I'd rather take the pick no doubt.

I don't think that the Suns would have been better with Gortat. I thought that his moping around and demeanor was little distracting to the team at times. He is good, but I don't think he is as good as he thought he was and the idea of paying him 8 figures a year made me want to vomit. I'm glad he is doing well in Washington. Moving him has increased the value of Plumlee and helped create time for Len to develop, along with that 1st round draft pick that now no one is giving up. The value that was received in the trade was way way higher than keeping him around and eventually either resigning him or letting him walk.

11-12 Gortat, absolutely better. 12-13 no way.

With Hornacek at the helm and Frye spreading the floor, Gortat would much more productive than he was last season IMO.
