There is still one way to get Pau, right?

I thought the Suns should have kept the assets they had and picked some Euros like the younger Gasol back in the day, but they didn't feel the need or see why they should. I thought they could have gotten Gasol back in '07 instead of the Lakers if they played their cards right and not squandered those assets so flippantly. '07 Gasol would have been awesome on that Suns team. '14 Gasol, not so much. I'm not saying that he is done, I think he probably finds a little bit of new life on another team. I'm just fine with pursuing him in the offseason when his value is set a little more realistic to his production lately.
Let's just turn the page on this pining for Pau and move on.

I just don't get this obsession for Pau Gasol and calling McDonough a rank amatuer for not getting him. What is going on? This seems so ludicrous and surreal to think this is the path to righteousness.

Gasol cant even get on the court right now. Between what he makes, and the money to be saved on Okafor's contract you're talking about adding on over 10 million bucks to the team's books just to RENT Gasol for a few months. That does not include the potential draft cost and the strong chance that Gasol misses a ton of the remaining games and when he does come back, he will likely be gimpy (it took him foreeeeeever to get in form last season on his injury return).

If we'd gotten him for Okafor straight up, I'd be stoked, but I wont second guess the team for not taking a huuuge payroll hit on a serious gamble for an injured player.
