Re: Kevin Johnson
That's awesome. It's too bad his career couldn't have lasted longer. His last year good year was his 10th in the league (and his best years were probably years 2-4), whereas, Nash's 9th year in the league was his first back with the Suns, and his best years were just starting around that time. Though I guess Nash had good numbers the four years prior and had them inflated a bit in the D'Antoni system.

Re: Kevin Johnson
I remember around 96, He was playing Boston and blew the Celtics out and had 19 points, 10 dimes and 10 rebounds in 19 minutes during the first half.
I think the next night was the night against Iverson...

Re: Kevin Johnson
being from SoCal I haven't had many chances to attend suns games. but the first one I went to was Suns against the Nuggets in 2000(?) when KJ got a triple double.

Re: Kevin Johnson
KJ has a secure spot in most suns fans hearts. I remember hearing that he didn't take stretching before games very seriously, probably anecdotal.
Still, I loved him and am pissed that I have no idea where my black #7 jersey is. That was by far my favorite suns jersey.

It couldn't have been 2000. He retired in 98. He did come out of retirement for the last six games of the 2000 season and the playoffs and helped us take out the Spurs in the first round. But of course we hit the Lakers in the second round on their run to the first of three championships.

yeah I can't seem to find that game. I know now it's not 2000 but can't remember exactly which year. It's post barkley so somewhere between 96 and 98 eh?

Re: Kevin Johnson
It is really a shame about KJ's hamstrings because he was on his way to top-5 PG of all-time status with incredible numbers and what should've been at least one title, maybe two. He was never 100% during the Barkley era.
