robert sarver also took a laughing stock team out of the lottery and into championship contender status in one year.

the problem with mcdo and every other inexperienced managers is that they tend to follow a certain formula and stay the course even if circumstances change. bill simmons said the way to keep your new job as GM of a non-playoff team this year is to tank hard and go for pingpong balls ("selling hope to the rubes.") But we arent going for lottery balls this year. In Mcdo's case, doing nothing made the situation worse and finishing 9th in the west would be very unsatisfying.

Mcdonough is like Mitt Romney (private equity) without the actual competence.

people in the suns media bubble should have been more critical of the young GM instead of writing fawning article like this on trade day deadline.

maybe we should fire McD and hire Bill Simmons. It's always smart to listen to career sports writers over people who have actually done the job.

Dude, you had to quote both of them? I could have gone all day without having to read their nonsense.

Weird considering you quote me pretty much all the time

Mcdonough.........

he better pray that the suns make the playoffs.

We are all hoping the Suns make the playoffs.

Are you suggesting there will be some sort of retribution towards McD if Suns don't make the PO's? What exactly are the trade deadline deals that McD should have made?

He wanted the Suns to trade a 1st rd pick for Pau Gasol.

Even though John Gambo who is the best Suns source said that Lakers and Suns never even talked about Pau Gasol and Adrian Woj who is the best NBA source in the business never even reported that the Suns and Lakers talked about a Gasol deal.

I didnt say he'd be fired if the suns dont make the playoffs this season. but the bloom will definitely be off the rose for some of mcdo's diehard supporters in the media and in this forum.

the way the suns are dropping out of the playoff picture, dragic might not even get third team all nba. and horny can forget coach of the year if the suns are 9th in the west( thibodeau will be the favorite to win it)

As a man, PJ did the right thing - if a player known for his annoying antics is laying on top of you and doesn't seem to get right back up...he deserved it.

I've seen Blake keeping the ball from Dragic in the same game, which should be a technical in my book. He is just the kind of player who likes to stir things up, but when somebody reacts like a man he either flops or whines. This time he messed with the wrong guy, I bet he did not see this coming.

Love Tucker for showing some balls, especially after the Suns are getting abused by the refs the last couple of games. Him and the Morris twins seem like old school tough guys on the court and I wished Frye would take some lessons but well...

(I still respect Griffin's game, don't get me wrong)

Blake's fake tough guy act gets old real fast. He needs to man up and take his punishment like a man.

I don't think Dragic or Hornacek wil shred a year for missing out on third team All NBA and coach of the year.

Last guy to win coach of the year got fired right after...

The book on McD is not going to be written based on the Suns making the playoffs this year.

mcdo wont be fired this year if the suns dont make the playoffs this year.

BUT he'll be fired next year if the suns dont make the playoffs again next year while not having the worst record in the west.
