All-defensive teams named; PJ did not make it

Post#1 » by spanishninja » Mon Jun 2, 2014 6:30 pm

Pretty solid selections overall I guess, but I feel Jordan had a case ahead of Hibbert, especially with the way Hibs declined during the second half of the season. Tucker and Bled both got some votes, which is not bad I guess.

only All-NBA left now for the reg season awards...super anxious to find out whether Goran made one of them!

Wow, LeBron tied with Iguodala with 57 first team votes each but Iguodala takes it because of more second team votes. I wonder if he's pissed and if that will give him any extra motivation in the finals.

wait what.. they should definitely revoke the voting rights of any writer who voted for either of these two. Harden might literally be the worst defender in the NBA.

Whoever voted for Harden was clearly trolling

It was a girl from Southsports. I can't tell if she is an active Rockets fan, but I think that is the fox sports affiliate for Houston home games.

As for Monta Ellis, that writer was affiliated with Dallas media.

I don't think media should vote for these. I think it should be coaches who have a better idea of who is a bigger defensive problem than others, and they shouldn't be allowed to vote for players on their own team.

David Lee got a vote too AND Granger who played less than 900min...That is ridiculous.

Wade, Bosh and Curry all received 1st or 2nd team votes!?!?

How did Tony Allen not make it? He made MVP Durant his b**ch for most of the first round.

Tony Allen missed 27 games and played only 23 mpg last year.

Agreed 100%, Monta or Harden getting even a fraction of one vote should automatically disband the current voting system :banghead:

Whether or not PJ makes it, looking purely from an objective NBA fan standpoint, the all-defensive team designation means absolutely zero if people with that kind of bias get a vote. This isn't the all-star game...

especially since we've had several cases of the defensive player of the year not making the 1st team.

Al McCoy's votes

1st team - PJ Tucker, Deng, Hibbert, Paul, Matt Barnes
2nd team - Ibaka, David Lee, Howard, Bledsoe, Butler

Very reasonable choices, except David Lee.

^Matt Barnes over Ibaka or Butler or Noah - you think is reasonable? Over Lebron?

Bledsoe will get there, but playing LESS than half the season should not be worthy of a vote...

Barnes isn't one of the top 30 defenders let alone top 5...

Lol i mean Al McCoy is always making terrible decisions. These are lesser terrible. These choices are very reasonable "for him".
