People always say BPA, which is fine if there was some absolute ranking somewhere that was accurate. But the draft is a crapshoot. There are tiers and ranges. Within those tiers you should attempt to address needs if possible.

Of course you want the BPA but it's a bit of a copout because no one knows who the BPA will turn out to be.

That's true. Just pointing out that a lot of people on here think Payton is a tier above hood and warren, etc. I agree though, if you don't think there is much difference between hood and Payton, you should go with hood. His shooting fills more of a need than Payton does

Debate the merits of bpa all you want. I think in this case, at 14 it doesn't matter. The bpa still will be a marginal contributor.

Me ? My money is on a draft and stash euro like the 'Big Nuke' or kid PZingus. Season them for a couple yrs w/o having to pay them. Nobody at 14 or 18 is going to make a difference. Plus we don't exactly have playing time for them. Stashable assets (see tiago splitter)with the first two then snag either bruiser PYoung or that beefy Stokes from Tenn w/28

I'm not sure how stashed rooks effect the sal cap/ free agency $$, but I'd think we could better improve this team with a FA vet added to our current mix, and give the 'develop mins' to Goodwin and Len.

For the purpose of this thread, if it's not too late... I'd take the string bean Pzing at 14 and the 'Big Nuke' at 18
What ? Me Worry ?
