Need One Suns Fan for RealGM WC Fantasy League
Hey Suns fans, is anyone interested in representing their team in a RealGM-exclusive fantasy basketball league? There will be 16 teams, me (Adam Silver, the commish), and fifteen different users representing fifteen different Western Conference teams.
Leagues are never any fun without some trash talk, so it is very important that you stay active in both the league and this discussion thread: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1350343.
The league is on Yahoo and is a standard H2H one-win league. The draft is on Sunday, October 26th, 8:00 PM PDT. If you cannot make the draft or commit to staying active throughout the whole season, please do not join.
If you're interested, post here or PM me with your interest and why you'd make a great ambassador for your team. If there's multiple applicants, I'll choose the one who, I or the board deems the best. Cheers!

Actually I took it, but if you want to do it, it's all yours. The draft time isn't real good for me and I was thinking about exiting the league anyway.

Responding to your PM (I already maxed out at 15 a day):
"Sweet, I sent the invite to your e-mail. A couple of things I ask you to do though:
- Make your team name the "Phoenix Suns", or a team name that people can easily identify as the Suns. Don't worry about the Suns team already there.
- I will be creating a discussion thread for the league soon (I'll notify you when I do) in the "Fantasy Basketball" section, so if you can, please post there at least every once in a while. Leagues are never any fun if it's just a bunch of strangers playing for 20+ weeks without discussing the league at all.
- And as I mentioned in the thread, stay active and make sure you can attend the draft.
Thanks! And here's to a great season!"

Re: Need One Suns Fan for RealGM WC Fantasy League
This is the team I ended up with.
1. (5) Chris Paul (LAC - PG)
2. (28) Joakim Noah (Chi - PF,C)
3. (37) Chandler Parsons (Dal - SF,PF)
4. (60) Nerlens Noel (Phi - PF,C)
5. (69) David Lee (GS - PF,C)
6. (92) Jeremy Lin (LAL - PG,SG)
7. (101) Isaiah Thomas (Pho - PG)
8. (124) Anderson Varejao (Cle - PF,C)
9. (133) Brandon Knight (Mil - PG,SG)
10. (156) Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Det - SG)
11. (165) Brandan Wright (Dal - PF,C)
12. (188) Otto Porter Jr. (Was - SF)
13. (197) Khris Middleton (Mil - SF,PF)
-So shattered Bled went at 36 but at east I got IT at 101.... which is going to be a massive steal.
-David Lee should be a big beneficiary of Kerr's offensive system.
-Lin at 92 was a tad of a reach but he isn't a concern for me at all.
-Brandon Wright is a bit of a doozy but my target Dalembert went 2 picks earlier so I was out of options.
-KCP has the potential to be a top 80 talent comfortably... especially under SVG and with Meeks out.

I like Lin a lot where you got him man, hard to find a potential 14-4-6 guy there with good STL/FT%.
Amazes me how much Knight is slipping, that's a STEAL there.
Not as high on Noah as I was last year, his minutes will drop as will his touches/AST with Rose/Pau on board, so may have been a slight reach at 28.
Like the Noel pick, nice pairing with Lee's %s/lack of D too.
Don't like Wright at all though, he's only good for a good game every 2 weeks but I guess it's fine that late...Who else is in FA?

Wright's upside is bonkers (7th best per36 fantasy player last season) and with a bit less competition at the center spot he could carve a spot.
The only FAs worth mentioning are Bass, Hollis Thompson, Fournier... maybe Vonleh.
I too didn't like the Noah pick (I really love watching Jo) but I'd already drafted the CP3/Marc combo in another league so I figured I'd change it up. Horford went 1 pick before me and I probably would have taken him.
Knight's Yahoo ranking is really low so he gets drafted late..... who knows why..

Yeah I agree per minute he's great, but there's gotta be a reason he can never hold down a 25min job - Carlisle doesn't use him that way. He loves Chandler too, so can't see Wright getting too many mins there.
I'd grab Fournier - that dude plays like a PG and can't shoot that well, but when he got mins last year he was VERY solid.
He should get what - 24min per at least, while VO is out. Last year he played 22 games with 24 or more mins and averaged 15.0pts, 4.4reb, 2.5asst, 0.9stl, 2.0x 3pt, 43%fg and 80%ft - those are really good numbers - basically like Afflalo's.

Looks pretty good and will be great if Varejao stays healthy because he can put up some nice numbers. I like those last two picks. I think Porter could be a breakout candidate this year and I really like Middleton too.

Well, at least u guys aren't playing in pussy size leagues.
Solid draft overall. Noel is too risky for me at 60, but he might have a good year. David Lee, I.Thomas, Noah, and Caldwell-Pope were very nice picks at those spots. Middleton and Otto Porter could wind up being nice surprises if they manage to get playtime. Middleton in particular put up nice stats on a per minute basis last year, hopefully the Jabari Parker addition won't kill his playtime.

Did some research. He actually played 26 games with 24MPG or more. In those games he averaged 30MPG. However the stats were more or less the same.
They translate to a fantasy value of approx 140th. In 18MPG Wright has more fantasy value

? Sort by MPG = 22 games. Unless you're doing career wise and then he has 25...
Either way, do you really think Wright has more fantasy upside than Fournier?
On an averages rate, sure he'll be ranked higher because of the percentages/low TOs, but you can't go on just those or that means you think Kawhi is truly more valuable than Lowry, Jefferson, Noah and Westbrook to name a few...

We're talking about the same Evan Fournier right?

Everyone's a hater on TO value ahaha. It's still just as valuable as any other category!! I'd say Wright has more upside on that basis. You don't really need a player to contribute in more than a couple of cats as long as your team is balanced enough. Of course injuries can mess up that strategy a little.
Also for that reason I actually do like Kawhi more than Joakim, but that's about it. The rest of the players you listed have more value across the board.
