All I know is, if we're trading for a key piece, then we should have done it as early into the 10 day break as possible to allow the most time for said player to get integrated. Knowing us, we'll do it the day after the break and rush the guy into the rotation without a practice under his belt :(

Unless we do a straight salary dump for a pick... Hoping for IT more than Goran in that case.

I'd be really disappointed if Dragic was traded. Not only is he a fan favourite but that would potentially open up a gaping hole in our other starting guard position and it's pretty clear we have nobody to fill that void. We should admit that the Thomas addition was redundant and only made our best player (best player last year, at least) unhappy.

Trading Thomas probably gets us back to that sweet spot of both our guys (Bledsoe/Dragic) sharing the duties and both averaging the same 18 ppg/5 apg as last year. We went a little bit "NBA 2K" by signing a good player that we didn't need in Thomas. Since we signed him outright in free agency, there isn't a net loss if the market isn't too pretty for him either.

When it comes to actual on-court performance however, Im not sure our problem is so much a crowded back court as it is just sucking at rebounding and interior defense. I'd more readily ship out Morris and perhaps Tucker if upgrades could be found. If we take care of the Dragic situation then I expect the FO will begin to look more at that part of the roster.

Bledsoe is too quiet. He's a great #2 guy, but he's not a leader.
The Morris brothers blew their opportunity.
Tucker is our best leader...if he's not drinking.

Everyone else is either a knucklehead (Green, IT) or too young (Archie, Len, Warren, Ennis)

I saw Dragic "leading" against a depleted Kings team which suck ass lately, he didn't do much leading... Pretty sure last year was just a fluke year in a perfect situation.

The Most Valuable Player award is the highest individual honor in an NBA season. It has its own perennial contenders like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, or Chris Paul. However, every season there’s a few guys that make it in the fringe discussion for the prestigious award. Goran Dragic is apparently on of those dark-horse candidates...

...With 25 seconds left in the game, the Pelicans were forced to foul Dragic, who had 38 points. As he stepped up to the line, hoping to hit the 40 mark, U.S. Airways center exploded in cheers of “MVP!” for him...

...NBA.com does a weekly MVP race, and Dragic has hung around the middle from a while, ranging between fifth and seventh place in recent weeks, so this idea that he is an MVP candidate isn’t isolated to the Suns arena.

...and now here we are less than one year later.

Babby & McDonough are not trading Goran Dragic unless they are either blown away with an offer, or he's part of a ginormous, block buster trade ...and after those two scenarios almost surely do not materialize, and he's not traded he'll (probably) resign with PHX in July. They (Ryan and Lon) know Dragic has had to take the hit for the "asset IT" signing experiment. It'll take a ton for them to trade him, and then a crazy high FA offer not to bring him back next year.

Sorry cosmo. I know you're all geeked to get a 1st round pick+ for our little Goran, but I'm guessing you're going to be very unhappy and ranting anti-Suns FO furiously a week from tonight when nothing happens.

Something big could happen. IT? Sure, maybe. Bledsoe? That wouldn't shock me, as I've always guessed that was the eventual planned trade. But doubt it's Goran unless (see above).

You're not going to convince anyone that Dragic won't get traded by quoting an article written a year ago

Not really trying to...just (again) going on the record that I think all this Dragic trade talk is rather poorly founded hype.

As I wrote- "They (Ryan and Lon) know Dragic has had to take the hit for the "asset IT" signing experiment." I believe they believe the player we saw last year (hence the article link) is much closer to the future Dragic than what we've seen this year. He's all-star material if you don't completely "f" up the balance of the team.

It's already been mentioned many times that it has been and will be tough for PHX to sign FA star caliber players. Babby & McStunna aren't letting one already in hand go, anywhere close to as easy as many seem to think they will.

What do you think Pickle?

I honestly have no idea. A couple weeks ago I thought for sure that there was no chance we trade him, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised to see him go.

I'd be tempted by stauskas and williams contract for goran. Gives phoenix a real 2 and gives the kings gorans bird rights and Karl a point guard.

"I don't think we're as worried about holding onto what we have".

First time I've ever heard us say something like that.

To me that says, we're hunting for big 3 calibre players, and our current players are assets to get them.

Hey BH, you're still in norCal aren't you? Do you get to any Bakersfield games at all? This would be the season to do it, you'd get to see all of our young talent at some stage.
