I voted C and as long as we can sign knight to a long term deal it becomes B to a B+. Knight is going to fit in great with this roster in my opinion. Dragic was a very unfortunate situation and the IT trade just shows how bad of a signing that actually was

I don't think the Dragic trade is as good as everyone thinks. I know we were in a tough spot, but it hurts that McD couldn't pull any decent, proven commodity in addition to draft picks. Those draft picks could easily amount to basically nothing.

The Knight trade... we'll have to see how it plays out in the off-season. As someone mentioned, what if Archie continues progressing for the rest of the season? If Knight gets a crazy offer (15+) we will be in a tough spot. If Knight goes elsewhere, that trade is an F.

The IT trade is confusing. If it wasn't to save Dragic, what's the point of dumping him now? Thornton doesn't excite me and the Cavs pick has about a 10% chance of turning into a very good player. Should have kept him on an increasingly good contract and waited for someone to really need him and be willing to give up something proven for him.

Yea I don't know if it's a good thing that we got as much for All NBA player like Dragic as the Nuggets did for a guy like Mozgov. I mean even Rondo was traded almost as much as Dragic and I along with most others would consider Dragic a much superior player.

If Philly ends up striking gold with that Lakers pick and Knight doesn't further develop, it will look really bad in few years. I don't think they'll let Knight walk; they'll probably be willing to overpay him than give away 2 first rd picks (Ennis & LAL pick) to rent Knight for 3 months.
And yea I find it hard to believe that the CAVS 1st was the best offer we had for IT. I don't know if McD did his old friend Ainge a favor or not but it feels like we should have gotten more than a really late pick.

Mozgov was a complete overpay by the Cavs.
Dragic? That's the best they could've got under the circumstances. We had no leverage, and Dragic killed any other chance for a trade outside of the 3 teams with the assets he asked to be traded to.
I think that's actually an A, considering the alternatives.

That's what I'm both fearing and predicting will happen. I'm not big on Knight and I think we'll overpay to keep him. I feel we're getting shafted like we did the first time we traded Dragic.

So trade that causes most controversy here gets the best grade while trade that nobody have problems with gets the worst grade. Weird

"With a pick like that our analysis was that we probably weren't going to receive the pick this year. That pushes the pick into next year, the protection drops to three, but I think analyzing the Lakers situation there's pretty high variance there as to what the pick could be. If you ask me how the Lakers are going to be a year from now I have no idea. Obviously, they've struggled some recently, but they're going to have a lot of salary cap space this summer and they're in a market that's traditionally been one of the top draws for free agents.

"We know the risks. The pick next year could be the fourth pick in the draft, it could be the 14th pick in the draft, it could be the 30th pick in the draft. We felt it was the right time to cash it in."

That Lakers pick ended up going to the Philadelphia 76ers in the trade. Interestingly, Sixers GM Sam Hinkie also said the Lakers are probably going to keep that pick this year.

"My guess is the Lakers pick is very unlikely to convey this year for a whole host of reasons," he said at a press conference.

However, he seems to be more bullish than McDonough about it being a high pick in 2016, when the Lakers can only keep it if they're one of the three worst teams in the league.

"Those picks do not move around very much," Hinkie said in explaining why he gave away Michael Carter-Williams in the trade. "It is almost impossibly hard to get your hands on a pick that at least has a chance to be a high lottery pick. It's very rare that they move."

Hinkie is betting that they'll still be bad next year, and that pick will be between No. 4 and No. 10. McDonough is betting that they improve enough to bring that pick into the teens.

You can tell Hinkie didn't even think MCW would be able to net a pick like the Lakers pick.

For all the criticism that Hinkie gets, it sure looks like he may have hustled McDonough.

In Kobe's last year, with a lot of cap space this offseason, you think the Lakers pick will be that great next year? I would side against the "tank God" until proven otherwise.
