Post#1 » by RunandGunSuns » Tue Jul 14, 2015 7:12 pm

Hoops Rumors is saying OKC is sending him along with a 2nd rounder and cash to Danny Trader and the BOS celtics..it's unclear in what Oklahoma is receiving back from them.

*man this sucks looks like we are missing out..smh

Not sure where Jones would have even played for the Suns, he was underwhelming for OKC when he did play. At the 3 you have Tucker and Warren, at the 4 you have Morris and Teletovic, I couldnt see him playing over any of those guys.

He would have been a decent depth pickup but not a guy I care all that much that the Suns didnt pickup.

Not sure he would crack the rotation for the Suns. Probably better for him personally to go to Boston and hopefully get some playing time.

I wanted him on the Suns but in order for him to get playing time someone needs to be shipped out.
Maybe PJ Tucker can be traded away?

For a guy who OKC fans are happy to see their team dump off.....meh. I'd rather the Suns just keep Tucker.

I think people fall in love too much with who guys were in college and not who they are in the NBA. Jones to me seems average in every way, for much of his career his stats have been slightly above D-League level and he may not even make the Celtics roster considering they've got like 20 players right now.

OKC is trying to get below the luxury tax threshold so they needed a trade where they took zero back. The Suns are close enough to the cap that they couldn't have taken on PJ3 without sending some money the other way.

So, even if he was a fit... its a moot point.
