Apparently the Celtics are 2-7 this season when IT scores 25+. Interesting.

Mighty Mouse is a perennial Sixth Man of the Year candidate and is dynamite when he plays within his limitations according to his role. Edges out the Knightmare.

He didn't play so well in the playoffs last year, and that's the scary part about him. I think under the right conditions, given him being the third or fourth scoring option on a team, I think he could really succeed and be a threat in the post-season.
Anyway, I like IT. I also like Brandon Knight. I'll take Brandon Knight over IT though mostly because of the height difference, and because Brandon Knight is currently on the Suns roster. :D

He is really a great choice to anchor a team's second unit because he can score dynamically while also creating some shots for second-line players and compensating with his own offense if they are not performing confidently. He could also change the tempo and energy level of a game if the starters are flat, and he is potentially dynamic in both the full court and the half court. The perfect team for him would possess a bigger or stronger point guard who can defend shooting guards effectively enough, thus enabling Thomas to also play with the starting point guard.

To enjoy some playoff success, I do not know that Thomas would even need to be a third or fourth option—given his skills off the dribble, he could serve as a sufficient second option depending upon who the first option happens to be. He just cannot be that first option, most likely, because his lack of size means that he struggles to finish efficiently at the basket and to get his shot off cleanly in late-game situations. Additionally, his perimeter pop can be erratic and—like most guards nowadays—he lacks discipline in terms of shot selection. But if you paired Thomas with, say, a prime Tim Duncan or Dirk Nowitzki, he might be able to constitute a credible second option on a championship contender. The quandary is that the league is so perimeter-oriented now that finding the right complement for a guy like Thomas may be difficult.

... that can often happen, though, when leading players—especially guards—score more, because the higher point totals are often a sign that the other guys did not come to play or were not performing effectively. In the last two games of the 1990 Western Conference Semifinals between the Suns and Lakers, Magic Johnson scored 43 points on 15-26 field goal shooting in each game.

The Lakers lost both games.

Against Memphis on Sunday night, Thomas scored 35 points on 11-19 FG shooting (4-8 on threes) and 9-9 free throw shooting with 8 assists and just 2 turnovers; the Celtics still lost.

... not his fault.

The real problem is IT would never agree to be that 3rd-4th guy. I agree he'd be great to anchor a 2nd unit, but he was complaining about not starting after being here for just half a season.

He's a scorer as a PG. He has that mentality, and when he passes he often does it late (hence his reputation as a ball stopper). I personally don't have a huge issue with that so long as he still finds teammates, but if your PG brings the ball up and holds it for a long time, while having primarily a scoring mentality, he's never going to end up being the 3rd to 4th scoring option.

Random rumor about the Suns going after Rondo is posted. 5 SECONDS LATER: "YUK! Not Rondo! Rondo is horrible! He cant shoot the ball! Sure his is a pass 1st PG that can defend and rebound, but ewwww.....no! Have you seen his 3 point shot? No thanks, i pass."

This has been a short scene from The RealGM Suns Board: A PG Lovestory. Tune in next week for the conclusion of our story!

I want one PG on this team. Many of us do as well. The reason why there have been a revolving door of PG's on this team obviously has to do with the players, but at what point does McD and Horny sit back and think "maybe its the gamepla", and 2 PG's dont work?

I want one primary ball handler. One Point guard. One playmaker.

Eric Bledsoe.

Is that too much to ask?

If you have to pick a player for this team, who would you rather have? Isaiah Thomas or Brandon Knight? Pick one and defend your choice. Please disregard the draft picks that we traded them for, we are purely having this poll for direct player to player comparison... thanks...

I'd go with IT. He can run a offense AND carry the offense at same time.
His team needs to be full of good/great defender tho (like this Celtics team)

BK isnt a finished product yet, he shows glimpses of greatness but I wouldnt trust him to run an offense NEVER.
He's a 2-guard.

Merged, since this has already been discussed, so all discussion will be in the same thread.
