I don't know if this is a matter of Hornacek being a bad coach as much as it is a matter he lost the team and when players don't want to play for you it doesn't matter how good a coach you are.

I did sense that the team had started to quit on Hornacek prior to Christmas.

But the injury-plagued team that he had at the time of his firing is hardly an NBA-level club: two starting guards who belong in college (even though Booker clearly is a player), no forwards who are worthy of starting in the NBA right now, and two centers who are not good enough to compensate.

With Bledsoe, Knight, and Price out, Phoenix's roster is worse than Philadelphia's.
