+3 Ulis - Changed the game
+2 Bender - Was his co-star
+1 TJ - Played great d, though apparently no one agrees
-1 Chriss - Lots of boneheaded plays
-2 Booker - The beginnings of a sophomore slump?
-3 Knight - Rekt

Slump? I mean, I know he had 4 turnovers and didn't hit a 3, but 18 points on 8/12 from the field, 2 boards, 3 assists, 5 free throw attempts (only made 2, though) all in 25 minutes. I'm not sure that's a red flag for a slump.

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I really don't see the point of Cactus award though.

I based this on the eye test, not the stat test. I didn't think he played well at all.

Re: Nashty and Cactus voting: Game 1 vs Kings
3. Ulis: Pure energy and defense. Needs to be the primary backup ball handler. We finally were able to push the pace and run the floor with Ulis leading the fast break which allowed us to make up the point differential quickly.
2. Bledsoe: His 3 point shot is looking great. I'd like to see him running more pick and roll with Chandler and Dudley but he looked pretty good most of the game.
1. Booker: Struggled early but pulled together a nice game. 18 points in 25 minutes is encouraging. But he needs to put up more 3s for this team to go anywhere. I want to see 5+ attempts per game from him. Also needs to cut down on dumb fouls and make his freethrows. Was able to make offense out of nothing all night. I'd also like to see him running off screens for catch and shoot opportunities.
-3. Knight: Out of control, unable to make shots, long jumpers with a foot on the line, unforced turnovers. He did a decent job setting up the bench guys in the second half and getting to the line, but he needs to play off the ball more. His primary offense needs to be catch and shoot 3s or drives to the rim.
-2. Barbosa: Just does not belong on our team right now. He's used to playing in an all time great offense and that is where he is useful. He doesn't pass, play defense, or get to the line, and doesn't offer anything for this team other than a good locker room guy. He had a few turnovers and missed shots in a row in the first that allowed the Kings to go on their run.
-1. Len: He’s just not an offensive player. He has all the moves in the world but has no ability to finish, we all know this. He needs to cut the post isolations out of his game and realize he's wasting possessions for the team. He could make a living at the free throw line but opponents know he's just going to drive across the lane and miss a right hook or take a midrange J at a low percentage. We are just a much better team with Chandler on the floor.

I mean, he got in foul trouble, but I didn't feel like he played bad enough to have me worried about a slump.

Shouldn't this be called sth like "Nashty and Hedo" or "Nashty and Shannon" or "Nashty and Sonny" or "Nashty and Patty Burke" ?

It should be The Nashty Gorilla Award and The Chilly Cactus Award after Josh Childress.

I guess Knight will be a perennial winner of the Cactus Award hahaha
