+3 Warren
+2 Chandler
+1 Duds

-1 Watson
-2 Len
-3 Knight

Watson leapfrogged Book/Bled for the -1.
Played PJ Tucker, too much minutes for Knight... not enough for our rooks.
But of course when he unleashed Chriss, it was in the wrong time.

This is just bad overall coaching.

+3 Warren - Easy Call. Never seen him like this before.
+2 Chriss - Made some great plays. Doesnt play like a rookie. 7points, 4rebounds, 1block and 1steal in 11 minutes!
+1 Bledsoe - 1 TO! His insistence of taking bad shot after bad shot almost dropped him to Cactus status.

-3 Knight - If he gets the ball he WILL shoot it, no matter how good of a shot it is.
-2 Len - Another big no-show from the supposed next big-show. Image
-1 Booker - Had a stinker of a game, but still was trying his hardest to get something going.

3 Warren (easy)
2 Chandler - strong veteran play from the big fella. Also love that Warren/Chandler front line!
1 Bledsoe - he had a so-so game but he came throuh strong in the 4th and kept us in it.

-3 Knight - started off well but he didn't finish very well. Missed a fair few shots in the second half and made some really ugly TO's
-2 Len - another easy target but this guy just doesn't get it. Even in limited minutes he couldn't shoot 50%. He was invisible out there
-1 Booker - I had to give Booker some flak for his performance in the 4 quarters leading up to OT. He took a ton of shots early, they weren't great shots and he reset the offense almost every time he touched the ball. With him, it isn't one-dribble and pass off. With him, it's reset reset reset. I get he's a very good offensive player already but he needs to play within the offense. His play will be called but his play cannot always be reseting the ball.

Pretty much agree with everyone here...
+3 for Warren - Stellar game. Played within his game, and killed it. Looked smooth as butter. Wish he kept getting fed, because he could have ended up with 40.
+2 for Chandler - Also played within his game. Great defense, great leadership.
+1 for Dudley - Smart savvy playing from Dudley today.

-3 for Knight - Made shots harder than they needed to be. Sometimes if you play within the flow of the offense shots will fall, no need to try and remake the wheel.
-2 for Len - Complete non-factor in the game. Someone told me he stats and it just baffled me. He had that good block and that's his only highlight, everything else was duds.
-1 for Booker - Turned it around a bit in late 4th quarter/OT. His shot was just off, he tried to shoot himself out of it but it just didn't happen.

darealjuice wrote:+3 TJ Warren: Best player in a Suns jersey tonight. He was unstoppable when they played him at the 4, that 4-5 pick and roll with him and Tyson was a killer. He needed to be fed more, he was the only guy having a good game offensively and we didn't capitalize on his matchups.
+2 Tyson Chandler: Solid rim protector, played great defense on Adams for most of the night, and kept Alex Len off of the court.
+1 Eric Bledsoe: Tough matchup for him but he handled it well, he just couldn't hit a jump shot if a gun was held to his head. Took pretty good care of the ball, wasn't getting out of control when he attacked the basket, and he looked to attack and distribute more once he realized his shot just wasn't there.

-1 Alex Len: I can't give him the biggest negative because he just didn't see the court enough. With that said, he was definitely a negative when he was in there and didn't get a single board in 14 minutes at 7 feet tall... We need to stop giving it to him in the post and make his roll simple: set screens and roll to the basket hard, rebound the ball hard, and contest shots on defense.
-2 Brandon Knight: I feel like Knight makes the game difficult for himself. He gets so out of control with the ball and forces up these tough off balance one handed scoop shots or dribbles it off his foot trying to split 4 people. Then when he gets open look he feels the need to fade or just plain not take it. He played decent on ball defense at times, but when he's not hitting his shot he's painful to watch.
-3 Devin Booker: Too much 1 on 1 hero ball from him tonight. I don't like him standing at the top of the key for 20 seconds with Adams defending him and taking a contested 3. He's looked like a non-turnover prone Brandon Knight tonight with all they tough shots and missed layups. On defense he gets caught ball watching frequently and was exposed for it a few times. I expect a bounce back from him for sure.

Man, when you say Booker was playing like a non turnover Knight it gave me Knightmares, because when he stood at the top of the key and dribbled for 20 seconds and then launched up a 3 I was thinking "Please no, do not turn into this".

3 TJ
2 Chandler D
1 Dudley Best friend in the locker room is the guy that doesn't NEED to shoot the ball every time he touches it. Great communicator and grinder.

-3 Knight
-2 Booker
-1 Bledsoe ( I hate putting him here )

Cpl notes. Their guards killed us tonight. Our bigs played great against a big physical front line. It was nice seeing Semoj and TJ on the floor guarding each other. They played Prep School Ball together, faced each other in the NCAA Tourney, and now in the bigs. Pretty cool.

+3: Warren. No explanation needed
+2: Chandler. I feel so comfortable when he's on the floor that we won't waste possessions. However, if Len weren't so bad right now he wouldn't make this list.
+1: Bledsoe. I like that he looks to take the 3 so often now. He did a good job brining energy and taking care of the ball tonight, especially because our other guards were making some poor decisions.

-3: Watson. I truly believe he is not a good coach. Our players had this game won and he probably lost it by playing Knight down the stretch and running the offense through Len when Westbrook was off the court. I would have given Ulis a run on Westbrook because why not? He was getting to the rim at will anyway.
-2: Len. Our weakest position right now is backup center and Chandler can't handle the minutes we need him to play. His play right now looks like he thinks he's an all star and not the backup to an over the hill Tyson Chandler. He needs to play at a higher level so we can justify having him on the court, and if not I'm fine with playing Williams over him.
-1: Knight. Played just how I hoped he would the majority of the game but had no business playing in crunch time. Needs to control the ball better, but his shot selection wasn't as bad as the first game.

Honorable mention for cactus award: Booker. Look at how awesome he played off the ball in the first quarter, then compare this with his on ball play. Dribbling down the clock at the top of the 3 while everyone else watches. He's too good for that.
