Makes you think. I guess he'd forced his way into big minutes anyway, but it's scary that u need some huge injuries to let a talented rookie play.

It's happening again.

That's the whole thing. If guys don't get at least some opportunity, even if it's not a lot of playing time, to learn on the court and learn through their mistakes, their is little chance they will improve enough to beat out somewhat marginal vet who has gotten a lot of playing time. I guess it really just depends on what the organization wants. The funny thing is, I think more fans would go to the games if they got a chance to see the rookies than Tucker, who has been around for our worst six year stretch. It's nice for them to see a little of Barbosa for some of them I'm sure, but I still think they'd rather see the young guys on the court more. Now if a game it tight in the 4th I can see putting Tucker in there. I've always liked Tucker more than most around here too, but he has regressed enough, and this team is now in pure rebuild mode with half of their roster on rookie contracts and is expected to and in almost any circumstance, is going nowhere this season so there isn't a reason not to give all the rookies at least SOME minutes.

Especially when there are 50 win teams out there with 2 rookies firmly in the rotation, both having started, in Toronto, over Jaylen Brown firmly in Boston's, even starting once, or about 20 playing for various teams. I understand our rookies are about the rawest out of them all, but PF is also our weakest spot and we are projected to win 29 games anyway.

I dont have a beef with any vet if they're playing well enough (Duds, Chandler)
What stuck in my mind was Watson speech after our first game... just kinda gave me hope to see our young guns earlier than expected.
If he didnt do that, I guess our perception of his lineups would've changed big time.

After all, it's not like Ulis or Bender are playing bad. We're stucked with a PG who cant run a offense in our 2nd unit (but our playmaker PG hits the bench) and a undersized hustle hybrid forward who doesnt give a **** anymore (hello unicorn who can play/defend multiple positions, carry the rock and shoot threes).
