Which teams do you think we are better than in the West?

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Tue Nov 8, 2016 2:23 am

I see some projecting us to get to 40 wins or so, so I'm just curious which teams most fans here think we are better than? You can also name any EC teams (but a team like Brooklyn, for example has actually looked much better than I would have expected, and played a pretty tough schedule). We should be better, but it doesn't seem like a given like I thought it would be.

With LAL playing better lately, I think we're the worst team in the West.

I voted for New Orleans and that's it, and when they are healthy we are probs worst in the West. I think the rest of the teams are either more talented than us or have better coach than us.

Thank goodness Alvin is a spud coach.

Malone, Joerger, Carlisle, Walton have all shown they can coach better than Earl.

I think we can compete with all those teams listed but the amount of turnovers and our lack of bench power is what kills us. I feel like we beat ourselves more so than other teams beating us so far this year. Except for the two blowouts.

I feel so schizoid when I think about this team. One day, I think we're just a few coaching decisions away from playing .500 ball and the next day I envision us drafting (and probably trading) Josh Jackson. I think the minutes distributions along with Booker's shoe fiasco have left us appearing to be weaker than we really are. On my good days, I think we're in a battle with Denver and Minnesota - looking down on the Lakers, Dallas, Memphis, New Orleans and Sacramento. On the bad days, we're looking up at everyone that isn't missing half their roster.

Yeah, I didn't vote for anyone (though I think if we shoot what we are probably capable of shooting, we could beat any of those teams). I think we might be a tad better than New Orleans is right now given their injuries, but it still took OT to beat them, a monster game from Booker, Bledsoe's best game, Knight shooting far better than usual at 40%, Chandler hauling down 18 boards, and Len probably playing his best game up until then. I figure we have a lot of a lot of people who voted for no one for sure (at least two of the five responding here) who feel we are probably the worst, and a couple obviously who probably just voted for everyone (whether being serious or not, they certainly didn't say that's what they voted for here so likely were not serious.

The good thing is, I don't think we are THAT far behind most any of those teams, but just far enough to get a really high pick and likely with a little growth next year, perhaps pass a decent chunk of them, particularly if our rookies get enough experience this year to contribute a fair amount next year.

New Orleans is the only team I think we're for sure better than. Coming into the season I was expecting the Lakers to be worse than us too but it's not looking that way at the moment.

I'm expecting 22-28 wins this year.

I voted for all of them.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I think that the only better team than us for sure is Houston because of Harden and probably OKC because of Westbrook.

We are neck to neck with LA and Minnesotta...and just slightly worse than Portland.

IMO we are better than New Orleans, Dallas, Sacto, Memphis and Denver.

I know that sounds a little bit crazy but I think we are going to win at least 40 games.

Nawlins but we could easily flip our spot with them on any given night. Kings are probably in the mix

Honestly I don't care. Suns won't make a playoffs and the only difference between finishing 9th and finishing 15th is a worse pick in the draft. Booker, Bledsoe, Warren and Chandler are playing good but they have no help (see pathetic Suns bench in Lakers game). I'm Ok with this. I want Book and Warren to score 20+ per game while still geting high pick. And the worse our veterans plays the bigger chance we have to see rookies getting minutes.
Perfect season for me would be Booker and Warren playing great, rookies gaining experience and another star-potential prospect from the draft. I don't care about standings.
