-3 Watson - overplaying guys like Knight, Tucker when neither were productive over our young players who may have made a difference. When we needed some ball movement and clear direction on the floor, he kept Ulis on the bench. Why not try something else?
-2 PJ/Knight - Wasn't productive at all. PJ played 20minutes and he recorded 1r, 1blk, 1TO and 2fls...??? Knight similarly brought nothing to the table. Leads right back to Watson's coaching.
-1 Bledsoe - A starting PG in the NBA who brought no leadership when we needed it most. 2 assist is just not good enough.

+3 Booker - stunk it up for way too long but woke up at a critical time in the game.
+2 Chandler - at certain points in the game, he was the only one who seem to be able to get himself high percentage shots.
+1 Len - I would've given this to Warren for consistency but I wanted to highlight this is Len's 2nd double digit rebounding effort in under 18mpg. Keep it up young fella!m

Basically this is the same kind of stuff fans were outraged about with Hornacek.

I don't see Watson as being much of an improvement over Hornacek at all but he has good rapport with his squad for now.

In a game where the bench was stinking it up why don't you play Ulis and Bender at least a few minutes???

And I might be getting ahead of myself but when everyone here was lauding the signing of Watson like he was some breath of fresh air, it didn't convince me one bit. He was known as a players coach but had no experience. Less experience than Hornacek even. Hornacek also dealt with a lot more in terms of bad fits on the team. He had to deal with McD's mistake of having three guards who could start and then he had to deal with the MoBros.

Hornacek had his share of mistakes on the court but his starting point, was no different than Watson's. Except he had more experience and I'd argue, more maturity as a HC, having been away from his playing career for some time.

+3 Booker: Got us back in the game in the second half, though honestly, his defense is junk
+2 Warren: Kept us in the game in the first half, when everyone (including TJ) couldn't hit anything
+1 Bledsoe: By default, because the rest of the squad was pretty bad

-1 Tucker: Look at that line. Ugh
-2 Watson: Thought this would have been the perfect game to give Ulis some minutes, with our bench struggling, the Lakers playing sloppy, and our whole team needing to get a rhythm on offense. Also, how late did this team party last night?
-3 Knight: Because of course

And one more thing... why does Earl insist that our centers not even participate in P&R defense? A good screen and the guard is free to take any shot he wants. It's clear that this is coaching - neither of our centers even attempts to contest. I understand we're weak on the glass, but geez. Green light to all opponents guards.

Seriously Knight has not done well in this sixth man role.

+3 Booker: Great 2nd half. I wish he had started better but he does seem to rise to moments and it's good to see he seems to be getting healthier.
+2 Warren: Good 1st half. Glad to see his intensity and defense are sticking around. Love the improvement.
+1 Len: Nice rebounding in limited minutes. He had a nice block and a really nice pass to Booker (who wasn't ready for it unfortunately). I still think Len gets hated on a little unjustly by the fan base. He takes shots because they keep feeding him the ball and no one else out there is scoring. He does need to get better at finishing around the rim though. I don't think he'll ever be an all star but he's certainly a serviceable 5 in this day and age.

I'm not voting for cactus anymore. I'd just rather not disparage our guys all the time. We know who they are and I just don't see the purpose to keep harping on the same players.

I mean what's the worst thing that can happen?? Ullis might mess around and actually bring ball movement to the second unit.

Booker's offense is great, but watching him get lost on defense every third or fourth play is disturbing. If we see this, why doesn't the coaching staff? Please work with this kid, Watson.

On a side note, I got TJ Warren in my fantasy draft in the 8th or 9th round. If he keeps this up, I got the steal of the draft.
