Game 45: Suns (15-29) vs Wolves (16-28)

Kinda bummed some of you guys are already on the tank train. Not this year! Not yet! Our guys want to win and deserve to win!

Well, when your on this forum someones always bound to be bummed. Pretty soon, you will have the "Its too late in the season to tank" crowd be vocal about their disappointment in Suns fans wanting to lose games. It happens every year. We currently are at the midway point between them and the "Its too early to think about tanking" crowd.

But then again they both get trumped by the "#14 pick 4 Life" group.

I think ^ video shows why Booker will be one of the preeminent shooting guards in the league for the next decade. He can use either hand while finishing at the basket effortlessly. He's good at subtly adjusting his speed keeping his defender off balance. He has Steph Curry-like range on his 3-point shot. He can run the pick & roll as a ball handler. He can post up smaller guards. He can shoot off the dribble almost as well as he can catch & shoot off screens. But really the most important thing in that video comes at the 1 minute mark. Look at how fast he rises up and hits that 3 with a defender basically right on top of him. I have seen him get his shot blocked quite a few times, but it's usually when he's not aware of the help defender which will come with time. He's proving right now that he is what we all thought he was going to be. He's .2 ppg from leading the team in scoring at 20-years old. It's extremely impressive.

The thing about Booker is that he is so effective in his mid range game and his ability to get to the rim. You cannot play up on him. He also seems to be able to move just enough to create space to get his shot off almost any time, as long as the rest of the offense is moving and not watching.

He is deceptively fast. He takes long strides, but his steps are soft. Little things like that matter. When he runs his head and shoulders do not rise and fall, no wasted motion, but his strides are long and quick. He is passing more now than he was earlier, and it is opening up his offense more.

We can beat Toronto and NY away. We can play the Spurs tough for 3 quarters. Yet we can't beat the Wolves this year.

Minnesota is better then their record indicates, but we really need to be able to beat them if we want to make the playoffs.

This made me laugh so much. He's been so bad. Just looks lost. He will turn it around. His shot selection are usually good.

He has been bad, but why not let him play through his struggles? Its not like he was averaging 20 points a game on good efficiency to start the season... oh wait, he was. I guess I forgot we have the all mighty PJ Tucker though.

These last few games have been super frustrating to watch. Len and Warren are both getting the shaft in favor of Chandler and Tucker, when we are one of the worst teams in the league. Yet, because the Western Conference is so weak and there is still a shot at the 8th seed, most fans find it justifiable. I feel like I am taking crazy pills!

Is riding Bledsoe, Chandler, and Tucker heavy minutes in hopes of winning 33 games and an 8th seed really worth stunting the development of Len and Warren? They are not 19 year old rookies! They are in their 4th and 3rd years, and both have proven to be capable starters with plenty of upside left. Shouldn't we be seeing if Len can be a consistent 10,10, and 2 guy as a starter, or if Warren is our future starting small forward? We certainly shouldn't be limiting their minutes so a couple of 30 years can help us get a handful of meaningless wins.
